Any chance we offer Scroggins' cousin to help our chances of landing him? Sorry if it has already been discussed.

I may be wrong but I was under the assumption that he was attending the rising stars camp which is the 24th and 25th. I think the camp that starts on the 22nd is for third through eighth graders.

You are correct. But not sure he can even play now.

Suffered a hip injury of some sort at a previous camp that has limited him from working out fully at UF and UT camps. Theres some debate over the type of injury.

Clearly I'm not up to date, but why wouldn't he be able to play?

Injury, he has hip flexor. It is impossible to play QB well with that injury. It is not going away in less than a week it is a 2 week injury and longer recovery if you are older.

It will take at least 1-2 weeks of inactivity before he can perform at full potential. I had this injury my sophomore year of high school and I could barely lift my leg off the ground. When does he goto the USC camp?

“Right now I don’t have an offer from USC,” Scroggins said. “That rumor is going around, but it isn’t true. I will camp there on June 22."

I was just going by that statement he made before he left for Florida. I think LWS also said he will be camping at USC on the 22nd...

yeah I think maybe he is going on 22nd cuz he does not want to face other QBs who will be competing idk? More likely he was just confused.

If he goes on the 22d, I'd say he'll be the best player there

Should not have gotten side tracked by the TROLLS.

I read this article to see if any of the Big Orange
fans have any scoop on anyone else at the camp this weekend
I'm ready for some more commits!!!
This staff is a recruiting machine!!!
Can't wait till we start teeing it up

there are BIG-TIME rumors circulating that scroggins might have committed to the vols today. he was seen putting on a vols cap and hugging the coaches. I read this on volnation, and they also said on there that scout has said he was rumored to be TENNESSEE's as well. Again i read this on volnation on the Jesse Scroggins thread, and this rumo seems to have "legs". GO VOLS..... I guess when its proven that he is indeed a vol the gators never really wanted him. Thats how all this works right? FU to all gator and bama fans!!

Saw this on the govols site. Any truth to this cause I havent seen any post about it? I could just be looking over it though!!!

It was mentioned here that someone on TOS reported seeing the hat/hugs. There was never any confirmation of it, though. This was mentioned several pages ago in this thread, I think. By Saturday night, there were pretty positive feelings floating around...but we won't hear anything about a commitment one way or the other until at least next week, most likely (from him comments to KNS).

Didn't David Oku do something like that when he went to Auburn? Something happened at a basketball game IIRC, just can't remember the details.

do you guys think he really will commit soon or drag it out like bb did?

Few QBs draw it out the way BB did...Pryor is the only one I can think of...
I think most highly rated QB's really want to "shut off the noise" of recruiting during their senior season, so they can be more focused. It's easier to do that when you make your decision before the season starts, and subsequently let your family and HS coach hold the recruiters and media off. Plus, it gives them some bit of insurance that they secured a spot from the team of their choice in the event that their senior season doesn't go as well as they hoped, or if they get injured (fair or unfair...it does often cause a player's ratings to drop)

I think the number one reason (for most QB's) is that college's usually only reserve a spot or maybe 2 for a QB. Obviously depending on how great of an athlete you are (i.e. Pryor) this is not always the case, but most QB's want to commit early to ensure that they actually have a scholly waiting for them at the school of their choice.

and schools usually push for an earlier verbal because it helps bring in better recruits. in most cases you want to build your offense around the quarterback.
