You are correct. But not sure he can even play now.
Right now I dont have an offer from USC, Scroggins said. That rumor is going around, but it isnt true. I will camp there on June 22."
I was just going by that statement he made before he left for Florida. I think LWS also said he will be camping at USC on the 22nd...
It was mentioned here that someone on TOS reported seeing the hat/hugs. There was never any confirmation of it, though. This was mentioned several pages ago in this thread, I think. By Saturday night, there were pretty positive feelings floating around...but we won't hear anything about a commitment one way or the other until at least next week, most likely (from him comments to KNS).
I think most highly rated QB's really want to "shut off the noise" of recruiting during their senior season, so they can be more focused. It's easier to do that when you make your decision before the season starts, and subsequently let your family and HS coach hold the recruiters and media off. Plus, it gives them some bit of insurance that they secured a spot from the team of their choice in the event that their senior season doesn't go as well as they hoped, or if they get injured (fair or unfair...it does often cause a player's ratings to drop)Few QBs draw it out the way BB did...Pryor is the only one I can think of...

I think the number one reason (for most QB's) is that college's usually only reserve a spot or maybe 2 for a QB. Obviously depending on how great of an athlete you are (i.e. Pryor) this is not always the case, but most QB's want to commit early to ensure that they actually have a scholly waiting for them at the school of their choice.
