If someone beats him, that means that he isn't the best QB in the world. So either way, it's bad for him and a hit on our QB radar. I think he will do well at all camps he goes to though.

And if he does have a bad day and people don't think he is all that, that is fine with me. Our coaches know what he has to offer and I certainly wouldn't complain. He can prove them all wrong on the field during his time at UT.

It still amazes me why this kid would even look at USC right now.
Barkley who is a true freshman is going to start this year (at some point) and when he finally takes over he will play for three years leaving Scroggins sitting on the sidelines. Also with the way USC brings in talent they will have another QB that has the same level of talent or better signed and ready to compete.
I know qb's have big ego's but they are crazy to not want to come to UT knowing they can have the starting job and get even more headlines because of the SEC.

It's easy...if you grew up a UT fan and always wanted to play for the Orange and White and you were a QB, but UT was loaded at QB - You would still want to go there because you think that you can beat them all out and help out your favorite team.

Its good to take a close look at all your opportunities before choosing where to go to college so I don't blame him for looking around.

The false rumor was that Lakewood (Calif.) High quarterback Jesse Scroggins received a USC offer this week. USC hasn't offered any quarterbacks for 2010

USC isn't the team that worries me....Meyer and his lies about going Pro-Style will be the competition in my opinion.

Agreed. If he goes to USC, the vols will only have to play him if they meet him in a bowl game. If he becomes a gator and reaches his potential, he makes our life miserable for 2-4 yrs depending on how long it takes him to win the job.

not too worried about USC...this kid ends up in the SEC so i would worry about FLA or LSU; moreso FLA. IMO he ends up Vol

I think you are right. He has the family in Tenn and he has the chance to play QB early. What's not to like?

I think it comes down to UT, USC and UF. We have a MUCH more enticing depth chart and his family is here. I like our chances.

It's not much more enticing than Florida's. Brantley will be a junior and then they have...umm.... 2010 3star commit Trey Burton...

We may be underplaying the effect that a USC offer may have on him...

Don't forget about Washington. He has tated several times that they are recruiting him as hard as anyone. There are very close to home, and him and his 2 teammates want to play together. And all 3 of them almost comitted to the Huskies in a visit about a month ago...

These odds aren't looking so good to me. We are in for a battle...

I'm thinking it will be Legaux with Lamaison from what I've read on the board,if Fla and LSU are hard after him,that will be hard to over come,but you never know

i still think we have a shot at landing this kid. im thinking with family in the state it has to make the move somewhat attractive to him. he would be far away from home but only a few hours away from people he knows
