09 CA S Byron Moore - UT Commit

I really see Moore and Brewer at safety with Jackson and Lanier / PWag / Teague / Gordon / Oliver at CB. Sets us up with lots of options in the back 4/5.

I bet we'll see a much more dynamic defense from Wilcox next year, can't wait.

I think it would be a bad mistake to move Janzen back to CB. JMO.

flowd do you see moore starting at cb or do you think we move janzen?

Janzen at S and Moore at CB IMO, JMO though. Janzen is an ALL-SEC caliber Safety. IMO if it's not broken, don't fix it. Also Moore is a sick CB. If you watch his highlights from JUCO he plays both S and CB, but he primarily plays CB and make most of his highlights from that spot.

However, I am no coach or expert. Hubbs has said on VQ a few times that it is the UT's staffs intentions to move Janzen to CB if the opportunity presents itself. So it seems to me that if we get Moore the staff would be more inclined to move Janzen to CB and put Moore at S.

Again I completely trust the staff's roster moves, but if it was up to me I would leave Janzen at S and Moore at CB.

Moore could start at many places in the country IMO. Just about anywhere. If you all haven't watched his film yet I highly recommend it. Kid is sick athletic. I don't like to compare players who haven't even stepped foot on campus with former legends, but he does remind me somewhat of Eric Berry. Not saying he is Eric Berry because he isn't, but he does have similar abilities as EB with the ball in his hands.

Couch is also college ready. Our DT depth is nonexistent so I definitely see him starting as well.
Wow..I didn't even read what you wrote until after I watched the video and the whole time I was thinking about how much he looked like Berry with the ball in his hands.

-Mike Bakas.

That was from his UM recruiting blog today. Things looking even better. Even the opposition feel like they have lost him. Can't wait until Monday for him to commit. Most important recruit to this class with Couch IMO.

I can't decide whether I think he'll be a safety or a corner here because he's so good at both. I think what will happen is the staff will let it all play out in practice, and see where he helps our team the best.

Either way I think Moore makes a huge impact from day 1.

Out of couriosity, how fast is Brewer? I know he can hit like a truck, didn't know speed was an attribute of his. Dude is going to be a beast.

Reported in the football forum that Hunter, Brewer, and someone else tied for the best 40 time at 4.32.

I guess I just get the feeling we will all enjoy watching Moore @ FS and with Brewer @ SS. Jackson is a great FS, but I think he will be a first rounder @ CB, JMO.

Moore appears to be an athletic freak like Berry, and that type of athleticism needs to be @ FS IMO.

i would really like it if we were versatile depending on sets.... i would really like to see some moore and brewer at safety with janzen playing close to the line and blitzing in some 4-2 sets. similar to what we did with e.b. a few years ago.

A few days ago I stated B Moore = U, sure hope I'm wrong.

Thanks flowd82 and et al for the encouraging news.

BTW, heard Dawson's TN trip is going very well. Add the comments Maggitt made (per VQ insider VolinFla) and it looks like the Vols are in great shape to land a solid LB class---Dawson, Johnson, and Maggitt.

I agree. Very impressive. Sick with the ball in his hands. Very quick. Breaks to the ball very well. Moore is going to be a great S or CB for UT these next 2-3 years.

Also, it is great to have a civil conversation with you. A conversation about football. :hi:

Indeed. I still feel silly.

I'd like to see Brewer and Jackson at safety and Moore and Lanier at corner...
