09 CA S Byron Moore - UT Commit

Is there a reason why this guy is my favorite possible recruit left?

The reason could probably be because he has the ability to step right in and start in our secondary and make an impact from Day #1. It also could be because he has similar ball skills to EB. Seriously. Will make a huge impact for the team next year.

A few days ago I stated B Moore = U, sure hope I'm wrong.

Thanks flowd82 and et al for the encouraging news.

BTW, heard Dawson's TN trip is going very well. Add the comments Maggitt made (per VQ insider VolinFla) and it looks like the Vols are in great shape to land a solid LB class---Dawson, Johnson, and Maggitt.

And Harris. I know he's overlooked a lot, but I think he may end up being a field general and directing everyone around later in his career.

This is big news. We need guys who can come in and make an impact. Bmoore fits that mold for sure. Anyone know if his announcement will be televised?

My favorites this year are Byron Moore, Marcus Jackson, Maurice Couch, Mickey Johnson and Brian Randolph.. Except for Mickey it's looking like I'm gonna be pretty happy after NSD..

Harris looks faster on his highlight video than Johnson. He also tackles with better form.

byron moore will be a vol...

he told both staff he commited to their teams...but like marcus jackson...i would be shocked if he is a cane

so with moore coming in (apparently) does that mean randolph will likely redshirt?

We were talking about JJ to CB the other day and one of the inside guys, I think it might have been Zasnow or skeeter (not sure) was saying that Wilcox and Dooley were really wanting to move JJ to CB. They had JJ practicing at CB and he was shutting down the receivers. (IIRC Justin Hunter was named specifically) They think he could be one of the best shutdown corners in cfb. Just a thought here, shutdown corners are one of the NFLs premiums. I think most would agree that they are much more prized than elite safetys.

Not sure if serious? A better question might be does anyone think he won't be a starter on opening day?

Yeah I think he was being sarcastic VolOnthePlains. Because me and a few other posters were talking about how Moore would step in right away and start from Day #1 and also be a huge contributor. So I assume he was trying to joke around.

i think they are. CBs have a tougher position to play especially in the NFL. safeties can be game changers but elite corners essentially take away half the field.
if jackson is really that much of a shutdown corner, then he might (and the team) be better served to make the switch

I think Moore will be a starter from day 1. I think JJ goes to corner if he is still a member of the team come spring and Moore and Brewer will be the safties.

Honestly didn't know you had said it. I do know that now everyone gets some cred by doing so.

Curious, does anyone think Moore can contribute day 1?

I think he has the talent, and from what it looks like on tape, the instincts. But it will all depend on how quick he is at picking up Wilcoxs system IMO. All the physical ability in the world don't help if you are not where you are supposed to be.

Facetious. Now that a couple of people have said it, everyone does. That entertains me.
