09 CA S Byron Moore - UT Commit

Exactly.

Our DB's are going to be solid as long as we have Wilcox utilizing them and Joseph coaching them. Not to mention we've got a good rep for them too.

Eric Berry is the only good DB we've had in the past 5 years, sans Janzen Jackson.

I think that's going a tad far. We haven't been very good overall in the DB department the last few years, but Jon Wade, Inky Johnson was solid despite having a short career, Hefney was pretty solid despite a disappointing senior season, Dennis Rogan was decent.

We haven't had one good NFL quality DB in quite awhile other than Eric Berry. Jason Allen is the last one I can remember and he has been a bust in the NFL.

Jabari Greer hasnt been here in like 6-7 years. Nice try.

Jonathan Wade has done barely more than the waterboys in the NFL.

I heard Jonathan Wade in a telecast in a Nfl game last week i cannot remember the team but he is no waterboy.

The only reason he is starting is because of injuries.

Don't get me wrong, I am pulling for him, but all I am saying is we haven't had a plethora of successful DB's like we had in the 90's and early 2000's.

He has actually played well since he's been starting for them.

But you'll get no argument from me about the DB's as a whole compared to back in the 90's and early 00's. The talent level as a whole has dropped off dramatically in the program.

Greer is still in the NFL and has been a big contributor on a superbowl winning team. I didn't know the cut off was 4-5 years of boasting about a former player. I guess we can stop talking about manning now too.

It still doesn't deny the fact that we have a good rep with DB's and success as well as putting them into the league. Yea Greer may have been 6-7 years ago (not that long by the way) but what DB went in the first 5 picks in the past draft? Where did he come from? Did Janzen Jackson just make Second Team All SEC and what position does he play? Pretty sure we have a fairly good rep with DB's here bro...

He started with the Rams for awhile, too. Looked good the few times I saw him.

"If they lose Patrick Peterson they're looking at someone like me to come in and try and replace him."

"I'm taking all of them and won't decide anything until signing day," Moore said. "It will be all my decision. My family will be there to support whoever I choose

Moore said that defensive backs Ron Cooper will take over his recruiting from this point forward and expects to talk to him and head coach Les Miles in the near future.

"He went over how they've put a lot of DBs into the league and the amount of players in general," Moore said of Robinson. "He talked about coach Miles' coaching resumee which speaks for itself. I'm just looking forward to getting up there and seeing it in person."

Byron Moore’s trip to Tennessee this past weekend probably couldn’t have gone any better.

“It was a perfect 10 of out 10 if I rated it,” the defensive back from Los Angeles Harbor Community College said.

“They said out of the (cornerbacks) they’ve seen so far I’m the best one on their list and I’m the main guy they want to come in,” Moore said. “That was real nice to hear. They think I can come in and be that top, shutdown corner.”

“I’m going to go wherever I feel the best place is for me and whoever has the best to offer,” he said

Yes, like I said Moore is the perfect size CB for Dooley. Brewer & Jackson have the Saftey spots locked down IMO.

Totally agree. Lets put to rest the Jackson to CB stuff. Janzen makes some great tackles in open space to save TD's. We need him as our last line of defense.

Haven't read anything on it, but does Moore prefer either position? I would think not, plus LSU is obviously recruiting him at CB given the talk about him replacing PP.
