09 CA S Byron Moore - UT Commit

Wilcox is out in Cali visiting with Moore.

Also, Brewer is staying at S. Perfect size S that Dooley wants. With another offseason of conditioning & learning the playbook Brewer will be very good for us.

You are correct. It worked very well for Wilcox at Boise. There are definitely a handful of schools, if not more, that have begun using a Rover with basically only 2 true LB's on the field at the same time. Based on all the DB recruiting I think that is something Wilcox wants.

Would have to think that would be Randolph, right?

Wilcox is on the West Coast, He met with Byron Moore and his parents today. Moore said he's liking Tennessee a lot right now. He'll be visiting Ole Miss this weekend with a teammate

I feel great about where we stand with Moore right now. Unfortunately there's still 2 full months until NSD. Hope we stay on his mind when he takes his OVs to Ohio State and LSU

This guy is easily the overeall #1 DB on the board, high school or JUCO. Dooley will have a coach seeing him or calling him every chance they get (within the rules). I just hope the trips to Ohio State or LSU in Jan dont out weigh the trip he just took to Tennessee.

Reminds me of a more physical dion, speed not included. although he is fast just not dion fast. He would easily be my favorite defensive recruit if we pull him. (I'm partial to DB's anyways)

Would be nice to pick up Lanier and Moore to wrap up the secondary.

Yep. A class of Moore, Lanier, Martin, Randolph, Coleman, and Thomas would be just sick. I feel really good about Lanier, and I sure hope we can pull Moore.

I lived 15 minutes from OSU last year. I don't know much about this kid but if he's used to warm weather this will be a short trip. January is dark sky, cold, and snow. I remember when I was coming back from being out in San Fran for 3 months and flew home to 5 degree weather with windchill of negative 12. If he felt at all like I did, he's out.

Would be a huge get. As J Mo said, he's easily our #1 DB on the board right with Lanier at a close #2. Moore is going to be a solid DB, he already is. As yall talked about today, Wilcox loves DB's and definitely prefers bigger, rangier, athletic DB's that can cover the field, has speed, but also can lay the hit when it comes to them. As stated a million times, we'll be multiple. The 3-4 argument as been played and I've been one to say that we're going to move to it, but in reality we're just going to be all around multiple. We'll see a lot of 4-3's, 3-3-5's, and 4-2-5's. Moore would be an absolutely huge get for us b/c with his athleticism, he could very well be a high draft pick in Wilcox's D. I love the defensive recruits we're getting this year. Gonna be really good in Wilcox's D.

Great posts today guys, shame I had to be at school and work.

We're really putting the full court press on Moore right now. I'd say he is at the top of our want list right now not counting our silents like Cam and AR.

"X" seems to think Moore will stay on the west coast. He also said he thinks we should move on from Bellamy and Bigelow.

I agree with him about Bellamy and Bigelow (due to his injury situation, I would rather have Romar Morris than Bigelow) but I am far from being ready to give up on Moore. Moore appears to be be the real deal, one that we should pull out all the stops for.
