0-13

We have losses coming. It is what it is. We don’t have a defense capable or worthy of a playoff spot. Need to try to enjoy Joey and focus on Oklahoma, where I’m sure Mateer will have a career day.

last year, we didn't have an offense worthy of a playoff spot but we got there.. still possible until another loss happens...

Are you really discrediting Vandy just because they’re Vandy? Their body of work and collection of wins are head & shoulders above ours. They also have a stout defense - and if you haven’t been paying attention, we don’t. Wouldn’t surprise me if we’re an underdog in that game.
Where is the great win Vandy has had against an SEC opponent? The game is in KTown, we are hard to be on our home field. I don’t think Vandy can stop our O and we will outscore them. My opinion, you can have yours.

Their defense is tip top
Because of their schedule. Not because of they are actually elite. Other than OM, they've played 1 team with an offense ranked better than 60th, and that was Temple.

We have an equal or better offense than OM does and OM just put up 34 on them, on the road no less. I'm not saying OU doesn't have a good defense, but they aren't some juggernaut either.

However, their offense against our depleted defense that was already bad before the injuries, is certainly worrisome. Hopefully the crowd is a big factor, as Mateer has never played in this sort of environment. The toughest road game of his college career was probably Washington in 2023.

And he sat on the sidelines and watched Cam Ward play in that game. The toughest road environments he has actually played in thus far are @Boise St, @Oregon St, and @South Carolina. The South Carolina game was an 11:45 game against a struggling team.

Oops I didn't even catch the Cam Ward thing. Just looking at his games started.

So yeah, SoCar this year was the toughest road environment he has played in, and SoCar already had 3 losses coming into the game.

Vandy just beat back-to-back teams who were ranked in the Top 15 and also won by 24 at #11 South Carolina in Week Three. That's fact, not opinion.

The combined conference record of the three SEC teams Vandy has beaten is 5-10. The combined conference record of the three SEC teams we have beaten is 0-13. That's also fact, not opinion.

Their wins are better than ours. That's an opinion, although most people would probably also call it factual based on the numbers.

We may beat them in Neyland - and I hope we do - but to say they haven't been impressive is unwarranted smugness and having your head in the sand.

Vandy played South Carolina and Missouri when both starting quarterbacks were injured. A win is a win but some context does help in both situations.

Sure - the context game can be played all day long with just about any team in the country. For instance, Vandy beat both of those teams by a total of 31 points while Alabama only beat them by a total of 10 points, and Bama beat us by 17.

You don’t know me and you have no right to come out and say something like smug. I have Vandy friends and I have told them i was glad that it was in Knoxville. Vandy still isn’t scoring a lot and it is an opinion of mine that we will outscore them. So get off your high horse, i don’t come on here to be ridiculed or attacked and told how smug I am. It is my opinion period.

Bama, AM, GA, Ole Miss still would be. I think we’re out unless they take 5 SEC teams, or ole miss drops one.
I agree. On the other hand, I figured this season would have 4 Big Ten and 4 SEC teams in the playoff. IT appears that Big Ten will only get 3 in so does it stay 8 total betweeen to the 2 with 5:3 or would it be 7 total and then the rest of the conferences fill out the final 5 spots.

The first playoff rankings that come out will tell us exactly how the committee views the landscape of things. Especially if we win this weekend and sit at 7-2

That stout defense that gave up nearly 40 to Utah state. 😂 Tennessee is going to beat Vandy and that overrated QB

LSU and Mizzou are not any good. Especially on offense and Vandy only beat Mizzou bc their QB broke his leg. Tennessee has the better team. The better QB and the better coach by far

You asked where Vandy’s great win was. I answered your question. Simple.

He’s always like that. No one here takes him seriously
