It could be, but I still think the team looks better and is more competitive than I expected. I know every play in a game counts, but if you take away the pick 6 against Bama and a missed field goal against Georgia, we could potentially be ranked in the top 3.
Yeah, very true.

That’s the combined conference record of our three SEC wins. I doubt 10-2 gets us in the playoff unless the SEC gets five teams. We’re going to need a lot of help outside the conference for that to happen.
Win out & I think they’re in. Only fly could be if Texas beats A&M & goes 10-2. Ala, Ga, A&M & OM looking strong.

We have losses coming. It is what it is. We don’t have a defense capable or worthy of a playoff spot. Need to try to enjoy Joey and focus on Oklahoma, where I’m sure Mateer will have a career day.

I agree that we have losses coming and we aren't a playoff team although I think Vandy and @ Florida are more likely losses than this weekend versus OU.

Well, Mississippi State is not a bad team. I know what their record is, but they have 2 OT losses and a 2 point loss at Florida. They also beat Arizona State.

What you're saying is true about the unlikelihood of us making the CFP, but I never thought that was in the cards for us in 2025 anyway.

Won't need to worry about making the playoffs.

McCoy isn’t coming back at this point and shouldn’t. He won’t be in game shape and would just put bad game film on tape. It’s a shame because he was a great player last year, but his best bet is to sit out.

I think we are going to lose at least one of OU or Florida. OU is ant least decent on both sides of the ball, and Florida on the road is what it is. And if we don’t have the playoff to play for, I think Vandy beats us as long as they are reasonably healthy.
The only thing left for Florida is to beat us and/or FSU. It’s going to be a war in the swamp.

10-2 likely gets us in, winning out means beating 2 ranked teams most likely.
I don’t see how when theres Bama, A&M, Georiga, Ole Miss, and Vandy that are all ahead of us and they’re more than likely only taking 4 SEC teams total…

That part i understand but that would still leave 4 SEC teams ahead of us and i don’t see them taking 5, do you?

Depends on how Miami and GT finish. But I think the real convo would be ND vs Tennessee. And to our benefit, we would potentially have a top 8 Vandy to play last game of regular season. Hard for me to see us getting passed over on the back of beating a top 8 team if Notre Dame and Tennessee are basically somewhere like 12/13 in standings.

Joey may come back for another year. Brazzel and Heard are the ones who will certainly feel missed next season.

We match up well against OK and Vandy. Got to play a real good game in the swamp though. Hopefully the gators have checked out by then.

Our two losses are to top 6 ranked teams. Win out we beat two ranked SEC teams and UF on the road (which is a huge win). Win out and 10-2 will get us there.

If you are 10-2 with your only losses in OT vs a top 5 team and on the road vs a top 6 team, then the CFP committee would be spitting in the face of the "SOS" metric they said they would now be looking at.

Considering the Ole Miss game was over before they even started running the calculations during our game, cmon man. Quit being fear monger.
I'm not trying to fear monger. my question is what does the predictor say is the %chance of making the playoffs for Bama, Georgia, TAMU, and Ole Miss if they went out.

so if Tennessee has. 90% chace but they all have a higher chance does that predictor say that it's guaranteed that 5 SEC teams get in?

Those that can see that defensive performance last night and not think 3 more losses are possible, well you have my admiration.
3 more losses would not surprise me. 4 wins would be somewhat surprising but not like a miracle ending. So I could see either of these or something in between happening...I will not be surprised no matter what the outcome of the next 4 games (unless we go <<gasp>> 0-4...then I'd be pretty pissed.
