All I can say about this is how Butch Jones is the biggest talker we have had as head coach in my lifetime (which began when Neyland was still coach. Then after the FL game he got hissy when people started doubting his rap. Now we have threads like this trying to make a man who quite literally...

Me either. He's the one with the big salary.

Preseason I had my doubts about six. Wish I still didn't have those doubts, but the FL game is still fresh in my mind.

So what matters to him in life when he drops players (fails to renew their annual scholarships instead of standing by their four year commitment) who don't turn out to be good enough for him?

You missed the part about the missed opportunity with FL. That was the opportunity game that would have, should have mad it likely that my expectations would be exceeded. Right now, that is still very much doubt. Preseason I circled Old Mess as an opportunity game too. I hope I'm as right...

With you on that. Mid-season is when you expect a struggling but talented offense to beginning clicking a little, and that's on the coaching... process notwithstanding.

Really, it's the whole offense, line and backs getting the protection scheme right, receivers and backs reading the pass rush/coverage scheme, coaches calling some draws, screens plays, etc. at opportune moments. The offensive line shouldn't be taking all heat.

They've has six this year, plus a few in prior years. I would think they've all had plenty of reps in practice too.

Guess that's why we're talking about it.
