    OU fan previews UT/OU

That stat is in 5 years not just simply last year. Oklahoma, under Lincoln Riley, has put up 30+ pts on tOSU, Auburn, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia. OU will look a lot different next year than last year. They’re moving from “power option” (Hurts) back to “smash mouth spread” (Kyler and...

    OU fan previews UT/OU

I’d put the likelyhood or holding OU to below 28 to be very low. This is probably OUs best all-around team since 2017 and they have Grinch instead of Stoops (major upgrade). OU has scored 30 points or more in 59/67 games since Riley arrived.

Tennessee comes in at No. 19 in ESPN FPI

Losing Hurts will be addition by subtraction. As someone who watched every Oklahoma game, he simply couldn’t make the throws that Riley requires. The kool-aid around Rattler is that he’s better than Baker, and on Kyler M‘s level. The defense carried that team to the playoffs at which point it...

Tennessee comes in at No. 19 in ESPN FPI

This year and 2021 are OUs championship window year. Their offense should be better than last year (everyone returns except for CD and Hurts) and Grinch is the real deal (and 8/9 starters return).

    You grade for selection committee

Entirely disagree. The committee very clearly stated that Q1 was incredibly important as well as no bad losses. OSU: 5-12 against Q1; 88 RPI; 52 SOS OU: 6-8 against Q1; 48 RPI; 7-2 against RPI top 26 (iirc); 25 SOS Less wins in Q1, lower RPI, and lower SOS. Plus, anecdotal maybe, OSU...

Clay Travis actually had a great idea.

What's even funnier: The only "proven head coach" that OU has hired in the last 70 years was Schnelly. He was the biggest failure of them all (besides Boo Blake). Stoops was the D coordinator for Florida when hired. Switzer was promoted from OC. Fairbanks was a position coach for OU, and Bud...

Bama board now saying Georgia is the new Bama

It'll look better vs Georgia than it has. The teams to shred that defense have been able to reliably throw the ball 15-30 yards downfield to a 6'4" plus receiver. (Baylor, Okie St., and Iowa St.). Any team that couldn't had a hard time moving the ball and scoring points (tOSU, TCU, and Texas)...

New coach better be better than Leach

The top 4 teams currently all have HCs who didn't have a lot of Hc experience between them when they got hired where they are: 1: Clemson (Sweeney: 0) 2: Auburn (Malzhan: 1 at Arkansas St (also a bit of HS)) 3: Oklahoma (Lincoln Riley: 0; Bob Stoops; 0) 4: Wisconsin (Paul Chryst: 2 at...

11/30- Leach and UT Reportedly Working On A Deal

It's as much as a gimmick offense as anyone elses-probably even less so.

11/30- Leach and UT Reportedly Working On A Deal

I, as an avid B12 watcher/fan, welcome the SEC to defensive hell.

11/30- Leach and UT Reportedly Working On A Deal

Nope. Look at the "Air Raid" taken to its logical extreme: Oklahoma (piloted by Lincoln Riley a former Leach assistant and Tech coach). With great athletes and a great QB (though almost no one recruited him) they became the best offense even after losing 2 NFL starting RBs and the Biletnikoff...

Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy interviewed by Currie

Okie St fans only want 1 thing: To beat OU. They couldn't care less is they went 1-10 as long as they beat OU. T. Boone is like your avg Okie St fan-he doesn't care if you win 10 games if you don't beat OU, and Mayfield has more wins in Bedlam than Gundy does. Gundy also hates being second...

WATE Reporting New Coach Announced Tomorrow. [unconfirmed]

You missed the point. Great offense now can beat great defense and just because you run a spread doesn't mean you can't be proficient on defense. Good/great offense and proficient defense/ bend don't break can win in this conference which was my response to your original point.

WATE Reporting New Coach Announced Tomorrow. [unconfirmed]

Last year Oklahoma played Auburn in the sugar bowl. Here's how it broke down: OU had a great offense (even better this year somehow) and a D that gave up 854 yards and 59 points to Texas Tech (though they did get a lot better after that). Auburn had one of the top defenses and a ball control...

WATE Reporting New Coach Announced Tomorrow. [unconfirmed]

At the mighty Washington St. I bring up the Baylor QB (well now Auburn) because your perception is that the spread wouldn't work in the SEC and the only reason QBs in the Big 12 put up good numbers is because of bad D, yet here we see the backup becoming the best in this whole conference and the...
