11/30- Leach and UT Reportedly Working On A Deal

It will be the odd couple for sure. He's certainly not a cultural fit.

I read that he likes to walk to work. At Tennessee he can boat to work

I disagree. Has the bones to stand up to a tough media and not afraid to tell it like it is. Complete opposite of Botch. I think he'll be a media darling if hired.

That's really not what I'm talking about. Is there any doubt that he will be a media darling?

You may want to check his stats...

they're better than i would have guessed....so thanks for sharing.

the only thing i would say is that scoring wise, in the top 20 you provided, only 5 teams give up 20+ points. WSU is one of them. and no one in the top 20 gives up more points than them at 24.4 a game.

they get a lot of plays run on them. 667 pass attempts. they're still a top 10 pass defense, but mercy, they play a lot, which makes it fairly impressive actually.

667 pass attempts is the most attempts by nearly 130 attempts the next highest team in the top 10. 44 sacks, also the most, but % wise, it's not that good...

what's most impressive is the YPA...6.8...which is one of the best in the country.

they're not great against the run. 48th ranked in the country, allowed 23 rush td's which is the highest # of rush td's allowed of those top 48.

bottom line, their defense is better, efficiency wise, than i would have guessed. they're actually really good against the pass. they're not very good against the run.

and they average having 90 plays a game run against that defense.

that'll have to change in the SEC.

but like i said, leach has always been like that, he's an offense first guy, and if he's your coach, that's what you sign up for, and live with the rest.

a pirate's life for me!

it would still take a lot for it to also top Kiffin's midnight departure.

You're right.

Ok, so I live a lot of the time in Kellogg, Idaho not too far from Pullman, but I haven't really followed Leach that much or even Washington State. So when his name came up, I went to YouTube to check him out. While I was typing Mike Leach in the search bar, one of the first things that popped up in the list was "Mike Leach Aliens." And then I watched this guy. I'm not quite sure what to think. He's either crazy crazy, or crazy genius. If we get him, he'll either flame out spectacularly or win big at UT - I don't think there would be any middle ground.
