    Chaney and Retirement

Not sure what Chaney should have done different either, other than the horrid end around call on 4th and 1. Off Tackle and Student Body Right consistently produced positive yardage. Guantanamo didn’t push the ball downfield, and after three years it’s clear he never will. If it’s not OT, the...

    Death of a program

You've touched on the most baffling part of all of this. We won't drive up a dump truck full of money to name your coach, until Pruitt we squabble over the cost of assistants, yet we will spend $300 million on something that makes no impact on attendance and give mediocre coaches huge buyouts...

Interesting comment from Ainge to open his show this morning

He's a true Freshman. However, his start is because of an injury. Not because he walked in and was the best lineman they had like Trey Smith is. Also, Cade Mayes is off the same freak tree as Trey Smith. And Pruitt went after him with guns blazing. He didn't get him because of all the...

    The whining fans

I really don't understand how fan displeasure can be characterized as whining after 20 years without an NC / SEC championship, 10 years without a Division championship, and nearly 2 years without a single SEC win. These "whining" Tennessee fans that will never be satisfied aren't complaining...

    Improbable amounts of bad luck

No, the ball was thrown as a screen. No one tipped it. The Florida player read it an dropped back to cover the back, and the ball was thrown right to him. Bad play call at that part of the field. Poorly run route. Poorly thrown ball. Just a disaster of a play. About 2:30 off the highlight...

    Death of a program

I'll add Haslam has run off Fulmer once, and kept him from becoming Athletic Director once. Yes, Fulmer stuck it to him during the Schiano coaching fiasco, but right now Haslam is up 2 - 1 on Fulmer, and Fulmer's coaching pick got trounced in Neyland and may not win an SEC Game this year.

    Death of a program

Um, the Governor is a Haslam. He appointed all the Board of Trustees or they all report to him. He just rebuilt the board into a smaller entity that's even harder to get people on. The likely interim President - for 1 - 2 years - Randy Boyd is a Haslam buddy. Thunder's net worth isn't clear...

    Death of a program

59-58 for the past 10 seasons, including this one. #2, #10, #1 in the next three games. Yes, we are going under .500 football for the decade before October is over.

    Improbable amounts of bad luck

No, there is a 80% of recovering if each player has the same odds to begin with and the ball is randomly distributed. That's not what happens in an onside kick, particularly this one. 80% isn't the math when you fail to block the guy standing under the ball waiting on it. This wasn't a freak...

Interesting comment from Ainge to open his show this morning

    1) Best IL as a true freshman isn't a good thing, even if he is a great player. 2) Trey Smith is a freak. There isn't a Trey Smith tree CJP decided he didn't want lineman from. They normally just aren't ready. And when they are, see #1.

    Improbable amounts of bad luck

I'll add to the inexplicable being easily explained, the onside kick had 4 players going for the ball and no one blocking the only Florida player within 10 yards of the ball. That's not bad luck on the onside kick either. That's terrible execution.

*****Official Pick the Score Contest: Georgia

I am not up on recent rule changes. There is still no play that results in negative points, right? I need that verified before picking a score.

    Improbable amounts of bad luck

Not this game. Every turnover was self inflicted. Unblocked player, throw to defender in front of own end zone, zero ball security, terrible snap, zero ball security, and forced throw into double coverage. That's the summary of my prior post. That's all on players on the field doing things...

    Improbable amounts of bad luck

It wasn't bad luck or inexplicable events at all. That's just a ridiculous statement. Just look at the turnovers. 1) On the first fumble for TD, the Tight End had two rush from outside, and he blocked down inside on a double team leaving 2 players for the back to block. Another player got...

AJ Johnson Update [verdict: NOT guilty]

The people who forced this to be prosecuted were David Rausch and Butch Jones. Complain all you want about the accuser and friend dumping their phones - which was suspicious. Far more suspicious is a police officer, who then became police chief and then head of TBI, calling a football coach...
