I lost a lot of respect for Dooley on that one. I have never bashed the guy because I believe he is doing the absolute best that he can. But I would expect 20 year old players to panic/buckle under pressure/give up/tuck tail and run in the face of adversity. But for the head coach to do that...

Exactly. There's a huge difference in a coach leaving abruptly for a better job (in his opinion) and a coach being fired for poor performance at the end of a season. If Dooley doesn't pan out, then there will be a proper coaching search with adequate time to get the best available candidate...
