If I was a 17 year old 5 star recruit and in walked Tee Martin wearing a NC ring, Greg Williams wearing a super bowl ring, and jon gruden wearing a super bowl ring...I would shat my panties.
I lost a lot of respect for Dooley on that one. I have never bashed the guy because I believe he is doing the absolute best that he can.
But I would expect 20 year old players to panic/buckle under pressure/give up/tuck tail and run in the face of adversity. But for the head coach to do that...
I didn't want Petrino as our coach. But when someone posted the article about Kentucky being a great fit for him, I got a little nervous.
If he had been hired to Kentucky at the same time we hired Dooley, they would be waxing our asses right now.
I think I'd be ok with him as our next...
the end of the program?
neyland stadium being used primarily for monster truck shows and concerts?
are you serious?
this "program" has been around since before your grandparents were born. many ups and downs, but if history tells us anything, this program will be very strong and very weak...
I was thinking, vols beat georgia on saturday, georgia fires richt on sunday, georgia hires dooley monday, tenn hires pat summitt as interim head coach.
That's the most realistic scenario in my mind.
En route to the hospital, your mother yelled, "Don't take me to that gator lovin, roll tide yellin Baptist hospital! He's going to be a Volunteer!"
Oh and the Tennessee Titans would not meet those expectations in the SEC.
That's my point.
I want to beat Akron. After that, all of our attention should be on Georgia.
Until we have a vacancy at head coach, I am not going to speculate what ifs.
Exactly. There's a huge difference in a coach leaving abruptly for a better job (in his opinion) and a coach being fired for poor performance at the end of a season.
If Dooley doesn't pan out, then there will be a proper coaching search with adequate time to get the best available candidate...
