Creer should be fine and so should Hardesty.

"I was concerned about Lennon, but he's done extremely well this week. Montario looks like he's ready to play, which is a big plus," Fulmer said.
thanks, hadn't seen that.

Thought Creer was good to go?
No matter, any of those have the speed to make something happen...

Maybe he will. What i heard was he would be pretty limited though. That was early in the week and it looks like he is better than expected.

Is that why he was 3rd on the depth chart?

no he was third on the depth chart because he smokes dope and had failed 3 drug tests and been suspended from games up to that point. he clearly beat out hardesty and foster for the job last season and was our ONLY td against p state when we had a "great" quarterback and a first round reciever

"The Head Coach may have team rules regarding substance abuse that affect a student-athlete’s
eligibility for practice and competition. Such team policies may be more stringent but cannot be
more lenient than outlined in this Policy and Procedures."
Fulmer did nothing but look after his own butt than the welfare of his student athlete.

Level IV (Fourth positive test for Marijuana or Third positive for other illegal drug)
The student-athlete will be permanently suspended from intercollegiate athletic competition at
the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. In addition, the student-athlete’s athletic scholarship
will be revoked in accordance with NCAA procedure.

Looks like Fulmer didnt make the call after all .Rule was in place for automatic revocation.
Those giving Fulmer credit for getting tough and making the right decision are giving him undue credit.

Good Riddance. He hardly helped us this year. His RB running was average at best. His good returns on KO were few and far between (although at a great time last week). I hope he gets his life together.

Man Coker is the best back ,well was the best back on the team. Coker screwed himelf on this one. However Phil simply didn't like Coker either.

So you think a 20 year old young man with such potential shouldnt be given maximum opportunity to succeed? I think what has happened here has been exactly what should have happened. LC was given every possible opportunity to succeed and he didnt take advantage of it, now he's gone. His fault, not Coach Fulmer's.

What is the policy and where can i read this. It is a joke to allow someone to fail 3 times and let the kid play. Speaks volumes why these players do what they do when there is no strict leadership.

believe it or not I get faced with the same decision almost weekly and I decided along time ago that if I make a mistake, it's going to be because I gave somebody too many chances.

This story of young men with great talent chosing drugs instead of their God giving ability is so played out. Good riddance Coker, it just gives room to someone who is not an distraction and someone the team can depend on.

what news to receive after a hard days work. POT??? FRICKIN POT?? its NOT hard to NOT smoke pot. i have no sympathy for him. i would think having Inky as a team mate would show the kid how precious the opportunity he had really was. what an effin shame.

It's good to see that he did the right thing, however it shouldn't have even taken this long to make the decision.

Hey Vol_Freak, since Coker is no longer a member of our team, are we allowed to badmouth him now? haha Just kidding man.

This is sad. I've followed Lamarcus through most of his high school career until now and he always came across as a good kid, raised right, worked hard.....just a shame.

Personally I wish Flumer would adopt a "zero tolerance " policy. You fail a drug test, break a team rule, get arrested for anything period you are finished as a vol. We may not be able to field a team, but eventually kids coming into the program would get it. We have huge discipline problems on and off the field, assignments and hundreds of tackles missed, and most of that is discipline and fundamentals. Fulmer needs to get a grip on the program or we will continue to just go thru the motions...and we'll keep working like heck!

i don't think that's what he's getting at, i think, and i would agree, (see my post on the 1st page of the thread), it's being made to appear that CPF is the one that "decided" this, when, that's not entirely true. the policy dictates this action, based on the progressive discipline previously outlined, thus the decision made FOR the coach.

as for the opportunities afforded LC by CPF, i agree with you, this is on the kid, not the coach. he gave him plenty of chances. I don't think anyone could argue otherwise.

So sad to hear this, just think of all the kids out there who would have loved to has such a chance and to have had such talent, what a waste. I would have liked to had such god given talent.

Very sad day for us and Coker. Having failed a drug test for the fourth time is ridiculous. Fulmer did the right thing. This is an example of how marijuana and other drugs can screw away peoples future. Lamarcus, you are in my prayers.
