The taunting from Bama fans would be unbearable. Can you imagine the "little brother" comments after they take two of our former HCs and beat us to death with them?

Pearl paid the ultimate price for a small secondary violation. Yes, he lied to to the NCdoubleAzzclowns. The fact is, there is a much less chance of Pearl breaking rules again than any other coach we would hire. Two things I am pretty certain of - Pearl will not commit a major violation and won't ever lie to the NCAA again. Consider this: Louisville recently hired Petrino back for a second stint. Wait and see, he will have them playing in the ACC championship game within two years if not sooner. Louisville's AD will be considered a genius. Why not Pearl? Why not UT?

1180 banned him a while back for talking trash about EA on another station.

I think he's allowed to call a few of the 990 shows but not sure because I don't listen to 990 except for sports talk when John McClain, Pancratz or Hubbs are on during my commute.

Living down here is hard enough without adding fuel to the fire. If Pearl ends up at Alabama, I will probably start a long hiatus from UT basketball... I'm extremely apathetic at this point and I used to live for UT basketball. He'll, I never missed a game even through the Wade Houston and Kevin O'Neil years. I do not like apathy...

I agree! Every time that I have heard him call in on any station or show, he pisses of the host. If I were a host, I wouldn't want to deal with him either, he's very annoying and condescending. IMO

Never gonna happen. Pearl is done. UT will not look back at this lying loser when there are so many better options out there. You know, real coaches who don't lie to the NCAA and get the University in trouble.

Then we could go great coaches, who MIGHT be better hires than CBP. In no order, Tom Crean, Jamie Dixon, Gregg Marshall, Fred Hoiberg, Buzz Williams, Shaka smart, Brad Stevens, John Beilein, Thad Matta. Again, I don't see any of these guys leaving their jobs for UT, in fact, allegedly, a few of them turned UT down last time.

Then I think we have CBP. He is a proven commodity.

After him, I keep reading guys like Lawrence Frank, Rick Byrd, Mick Cronin, Richard Pitino...etc. I believe that CBP is the "best" available. Not saying that others shouldn't get a look. But, CBP will end up coaching somewhere, and I'd hate for our next hire to be another flop, when CBP could have been hired.

Again just my opinion, I'm by far more in tune with football. Most of my BBall knowledge is gained from reading various forums and articles.

You just said hewhomustnotbenamed's name...You're going to get it. But speaking of "him" and Basilio. They have a bromance going on and he's always on the show. Said that he would be done with UT if they hired Pearl back.

I agree. My brother in law is a bama grad and I have lived in football hell for 45 years with the brief 8 year winning streak we had about 10 years ago.
