When the job opens up, if they pursue the best coaches available, Pearl wouldn't be at the top of the list.

That's the problem. There's no telling what is going to happen next.

It took Pearl almost 20 years to get a big job after the Deon Thomas thing. In less than 6 years, he screwed that up. Maybe he comes back and is squeaky clean. But why do we want to be the ones to roll the dice and find out what happens the 3rd time around when there are other good coaches out there?

The Deon Thomas thing? He didn't commit a violation there. He tried to bring one to light. Did he poke his nose where it don't belong maybe, but other than pissing off Ill. how is that a strike against him?

I believe that was a strike against him in the coaching fraternity; i.e. he was blacklisted essentially.

Agree 100%. But if it came down to bringing back Pearl, I could live with that too. Main thing: GET RID OF CUONZO!!!!!!

Point is....Martin is likely gone. If he doesn't pull the trigger after this season than we see where basketball stands on his priority list. I don't expect basketball to ever be as popular as football here but with our facilities and resources, we deserve MUCH better.

It took 4 reported turn downs from other coaches(which probably means 7-8 offers were thrown out) off the top of my head before Jones was hired.

I hate to think what #8 would look like for the basketball job.

Ha, ok well fair enough.

I agree though, I think our admin is worthless and we go searching for a diamond in the rough and roll the dice on another mediocre coach.
