Unfortunately I had mentioned to several friends how proud I was of the team for not getting into any trouble during the past 14 months. I even told my wife last night while out eating dinner that Butch had kept everything in control since he had been here. I guess I was over confident that we were going to stay clean. I certainly hope this gets cleaned up with nothing more than a lot of running for those involved.

JMO, but you can be a hard-nosed coach, be a strict coach, etc., but you can't stop college kids from doing what they do in college. You can preach all you want and inform them about the risks, but let's be honest. Situations like this happen every single day on college campuses.

For all we know, the police slapped them with a "resisting arrest" charge for simply trying to walk out the back door instead of coming to the living room when the police arrived to get everyone's ID.

I say we should let the details come out before we say that we need to "clean things up" or even slightly imply that CBJ doesn't have total control.

15 for '15: Early 2015 defensive targets for the Tennessee Vols

Per Callahan (247), this is our top 15 for 2015 on defense:

Shy Tuttle (DT) - UT is in his top group, will have to recruit him hard for a long time
Kahlil McKenzie (DT) - likely a Vol
Trent Thompson (DT) - likely UGA
Sterling Johnson (DE) - unknown
Kyle Phillips (DE) - likely a Vol (JMO)
Darian Roseboro (DE) - Vols have lead for a while, but this one depends on how long he waits to commit
Natrez Patrick (DE) - UGA is the early favorite, not holding out hope, but it's early
Rico McGraw (DB) - UGA commit, not holding out hope, but UT is apparently trying, and he's listening
Jauan Jennings (QB/ATH) - according to 247, he favors Vandy right now, but I don't know if that info is pre or post Franklin departure
Garrett Taylor (CB) - already visited UT three times, but highly values academics, and analysts at 247 think Stanford may lead with UT right behind
Mark Fields (DB) - USCe may be his favorite early, but he received one of this first offers from UT, and he's already visited. UT is in his top group
Ugo Amadi (DB) - likely a Vol
Rick DeBerry (LB) - Vols lead, but we'll have to recruit him hard until NSD 2015, IMO
Joshn Smith (LB) - UT is definitely trying, but I'm not going to hold out hope with his brother, only a year older, going to Vandy
Roquan Smith (LB) UGA leads, but UT is trying

Average composite rating of the above mentioned recruits: 95, 4*.

If we take between 20-25 players in 2015, it's going to be a 20-25 really, really good players if the way we're recruiting continues.

Sapp and AJ's apartment. Police told them to quiet down and left. The party grew huge and it was after 1 AM with even louder music than the first time police came. They disobeyed police orders. Their apartment - they take the fall. O'Brien was wrong place at wrong time with under age consumption. just dumb. Butch - run baby run with both of them if I had to guess.

AJ should know better. This is not his first rodeo. He can't be a leader if he will not follow orders from those in higher authority.

O'Brien has been charged with resisting, underage consumption, and possession of fake ID. Johnson with providing alcohol to persons under 21 as well as resisting arrest as we previously reported."

I would love to hear the officers' reason for slapping them with a "resisting" charge. You can't help kids being dumb, but I hate how charges like that get thrown around leisurely. It has such a bad connotation.

+1! An involuntary arm pull from the pain of having the cuffs cinched too tightly ca constitute resisting. This is just another example of area officers wagging their puny peters. If these weren't football players they probably would have been cited and release.

Probably something similar to what happened at my party last night...told the officers we were just trying to see the finish of the team figure skating event. Things always get outta hand during Olympic figure skating parties JMO #GoUSA #turndown4what

Also, what is the need of sending 13+ cruisers to make arrests for underage consumption and giving alcohol to minors? Give me a break.

I may be wrong, but I don't think these charges necessitates suspensions for AJ and Obrien.

Just think the punishment will have a bigger impact by running their asses, which I'm sure will happen in the least.
