Faulty appeal to authority. That's why they teach it in every science class. Because it's so damn innaccurate and illogical. That's why no self respecting scientist would disagree with it.
Go sacrifice a goat and spread some blood on your door, man.
Faulty appeal to authority.
Plus its also a straw man. This is not against the scientific method, observational science or empirical evidence. Its about interpretation in a narrow spectrum of science where philosophical presuppositions become sacred.

Also there's that whole marriage thing going on, I'm sure you've heard about it.
If it's a faulty appeal to authority when said authority is in 99 percent consensus, that's your opinion to think so.
I think a much more faulty appeal to authority is referencing the Bible in any supportive stance, because there obviously isn't any higher authority.![]()
Wow so on one day of the week you cannot buy alcohol and that's the end of the world huh? Pathetic. As far as gay marriage, why would you want gays to marry? It's just wrong. It's sickening to think about. Your arguments are totally weak. Nice try though.
Wow. You just committed an adpopulum fallacy to try and cover up another. Nice work.If it's a faulty appeal to authority when said authority is in 99 percent consensus, that's your opinion to think so.

lol: You actually think 99% of the scientific community and the general population believe in evolution. That is the dumbest statement I have ever heard. Wow. Ok that's all I need to hear from you. The ignore button awaits you. Thanks for playing

You need to learn how to have an intellectual exchange. Please show me where I have appealed to the Bible in this thread regarding evolution. I provided you a link to peer reviewed research that counters Darwinism.
Seems you are more interested in getting high fives from others who are incapable of an actual discourse, but in reality you are lighting the fuse that blows up your own worldview. Please continue.
The perverse wonder of evolution is this: the very mechanisms that create the incredible beauty and diversity of the living world guarantee monstrosity and death. The child born without limbs, the sightless fly, the vanished species - these are nothing less than Mother Nature caught in the act of throwing her clay. No perfect God could maintain such incongruities. It is worth remembering that if God created the world and all the things in it, he created smallpox, plague, and filariasis. Any person who intentionally loosed such horrors upon the earth would be ground to dust for his crimes.
- Sam Harris
Please, get over yourself. One peer reviewed research study is hardly cause for me to disregard the vast majority consensus. Keep living with your head in the sand though, honestly it's these kind of debates that make it that much easier for your crowd to expose themselves and their ignorance. The more you talk, the worse it gets.
Badaba baba, I'm lovin' it.
You don't find it hypocritical that you mock scientific statements made by theologians, yet laud religious statements made by scientists?
One? There are multiple citations, and more being added all the time. MP, this just exposes that either you haven't even looked, or you have no sincere interest in the first place.
What's funny is that you again lit your own fuse, and demonstrated that you are the one with their head in the sand. Your continued name calling, ad-hominems, and repeated fallacies actually say a lot. Resorting to name calling, rhetoric, platitudes, etc. does EXPOSE a person's character and motives.
This keeps getting better.
Did he touch you? Or did you touch him? Was it his hair? Was it flowing and silky like a Pantene models? How did he smell? I'll bet he smelled of rich mahogany and lavender.
What did you say? Did you speak first or did he? I'd have played it cool, probably held up a fist to bump. You know..
Here is the sickening irony of statements from Harris and all the new atheists. If materialism is correct, then an act of charity, love or benevolence is no more significant than an elephant fart. A child being ravaged by small pox?
