Mizzou's being way overlooked in the game and I think they beat Auburn.

I'm taking my final, desparate stand against Mizzou. I've doubted them all year, and I'm going to doubt them one last time.

Everyone else has abandoned the run against them, mainly because Mizzou jumped on them early. Mizzou will score against Auburn, but Malzahn was adament that he would not abandon the run against Bama (the league's best run defense), so I'm certain he'll treat Mizzou the same way.

Once Auburn gets their ridiculous running engine up and going, Mizzou won't have a prayer. Mizzou is already bad against the pass. Marshall might have a field day on them, between running the ball and throwing on play action.

Mizzou also has a mediocre coverage team, whereas Auburn may have one of the best overall special teams units in the country. They might get a TD or two on special teams.

Personally, I think Auburn wins in a laugher, Pinkel bolts for Washington, and Mizzou collapses back into obscurity.

I do too. I also don't understand how seemingly everyone is assuming osu beats mich st. That defense is nasty. How many times have we seen a team expected to win their conf champ game and play for a NC lose? A lot. Even us one year. Mich St is far from a gimmie. That's why they play the games. That'll be a close game, imo, and I wouldn't be shocked at all if msu wins.

Which doesn't make any sense to me. Those guys are good. They play smart, focused football and have no obvious weaknesses to attack. Going to be an interesting game and it would not surprise me at all if Mizzou won.

A couple of your post over the last day or so have caught my attention.

Though 5-7 is nothing to write home about given the talent issues, speed on D and the QB issues, there were some pretty nice milestones reached which strike me as something to build on (note implied "brick" reference).

In particular these are a win over a top 10 team, taking GA down to the wire, and getting an in conference road win. One might say the win over Kentucky is to be expected but the team is starting over after reaching historic lows under Dooley. Glad to have these milestones under our belt with Jones.

Yep. I'd much rather have gone to a bowl game, and I did think the Vandy game was a disaster for which everyone in the program deserves blame, but taken together, there were some real positives to be drawn from this season. Hopefully it is the last one like it for a long, long time. We at least won't have talent issues as an excuse going forward.

Similar arguments were made at times to support Dooley (and were true early in his tenure, because of the bad talent he inherited), but Dooley then went and recruited more bad talent to replace the bad talent he had before. He sneaked some real nuggets in there we can all be greatful for, but he surrounded them with many of the slow, unathletic guys we were stuck watching this year.

Seems clear to me that, at minimum, CBJ is going to bringing in significant talent upgrades across the board. CBJ's track record also suggests he can coach them up.

I don't expect to be making "excuses" for CBJ going forward, after 2014. I don't think I'll need to.

Soon as I posted that, espn had a guy on cfb daily that confirmed Winston won't be charged with anything

I'm shocked smh. Not saying he did it but I wouldn't bet the farm he didn't. Lot of big money ppl and high ranking officials can make things go away if they want. No telling what all goes on behind the scene in a case like this with a Heisman trophy and NC on the line. Again, I'm not saying I think he did it but would I be surprised if there's more to the story......heck no.

Man just stop with this BS. She was lying and anybody could see it. He needs to sue her now for defamation of character. Something needs be done to people who falsely cry rape. This incident could have cost this man everything and what kind of punishment will she get for what she's done? NOTHING........ This forum is hilarious though. Now there's still more to it besides her being a Football groupie. Cut it out man.....

Coach Fulmer was fired/let go when he lost his 2nd to em. Trying to remember but I think Majors lost to em twice also back in the 80's. He was given a bye, imo, for being a favored son. Having a NC in his pocket didn't hurt either. Coach Jones doesn't have that luxury.

Seems to be a pecedent. Dont loose to vandy nor ky.

Please learn to spell

Finebaum on espn just said he thinks bama is/was the only team "in the same league" with fsu........I'm absolutely shocked.

Then when asked which teams out of osu, aub, & mizz had the best chance at fsu he kinda jokingly said aub basically bc of their luck.

Just say it, Paul! Bama and your short person buddy, Saban, got straight up beat by aub! It's easy to see it's killing him like every other bammer and I love it. **** you, Finebaum.

MSU is going to beat OSU. That MSU defense is the best I've seen all year.

FSU vs Mizzou in the title game.

He's right. Auburn had some plays go their way and played their hearts out. Alabama is still the more talented team IMO.

I actually think MSU will beat OSU as well - their D is good enough to get some stops and anyone can score on OSU so I think they will take it

not as confident on MO - what worries me is their greatest strength imo is their pass rush ability and since AU doesnt throw the ball that will be pretty neutralized - i have sold them short all year though so who knows what will happen

they have a really good NC argument if they beat AU as an OT loss to a current top 10 team is their only flaw

I have always and will always contend that, if Heath Shuler comes back for his Senior year, we're contending for a national title in '94.

The only teams we lost to with comparable, or more, talent that year were Florida (who annihilated us at home) and (arguably) Alabama. However, with Shuler under center, we beat UCLA, Bama (who we only lost to by a field goal, I think), and there's no way we lose to Mississippi State, which I witnessed, personally.

The Florida game...

Spurrier, Wuerffel, Lawrence Wright, Kevin Carter...their D was probably one of the best they've ever had and would've been tough to overcome but Shuler, IIRC, tore them up the year before in the Swamp, albeit in a loss.

They would've been our biggest hurdle, IMO, and likely would've been MUCH closer, however, Spurrier was, and still is, a superior coach to Fulmer so, it may have still wound up a loss...but I'd really like to have seen that game!

FWIW, Peyton will always be the favorite son of the University of Tennessee but, politics aside, I REALLY wish Shuler would come back more often.

The way that UCLA game started, I feel Jerry Colquitt could have possibly done the same...we'll never know though

Complete unprofessional approach to this presser for the state attorney.

I am embarrassed for the state of florida and disgusted that the tone of this presser has taken on a joking manner.

Sickening

Where the hell did I say there's more to it? I simply said I wouldn't be surprised. You must have been working closely with the state attorney Mr Meggs to be so confident Winston is 100% innocent and the girl is 100% making all this up. You don't know any more than I do.

How is it so hard for you to consider there may be more to the story when a Heisman winning qb and a NC is on the line at a powerhouse school like fsu with hundreds of millions of dollars of potential revenue on the line? Who knows what all possibly went on behind the scenes among highly ranked state officials and big money booster's to keep Winston's name clear? Could the girl be a money hungry pos? Yes. Could there be more to the story if Winston wasn't a heisman candidate on the #1 team playing for a NC? Yes. So why don't you stop with your BS.

I'm not watching, care to elaborate?

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to since I didn't watch, but if what you say is true, can you expect anything more out of the same state that acquit Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman? It's apparently legal to do whatever the hell you want in that state.

He tried a number of times to add some humor to it. One time he even said that he guessed the media could relate to being so drunk they had a hard time remembering things. I found it to be incredibly unprofessional to try and make such an event a humerus one
