Deerpark also claims that we won't switch from Adidas while the VQ says there is serious momentum behind it.

I don't think Deerpark knows much about the inner workings of the AD or football team but boy does he get mad if you say something negative about Adidas. Probably because he is the Adidas rep for Tennessee
Lol. You may be on to something.

I understand that to a point.

I get the concern, but given how poor I think UT's talent level and overall health of the program is, I'm not sure how many times I think it would have been fair to expect this staff to 'outcoach' people (after watching several of them play, I don't think there were a lot of miracles to be worked on defense for example). They managed to do it twice, and faired about as expected otherwise (if you adjust expectations based on the performances of Auburn and Mizzou). Vandy was tough, but it wasn't enough for me to have serious concerns at this point.

As was said, if you don't have the horses, you don't have the horses.

Excellent post! It usually takes at least a year to get your players and get things going with your scheme. It even took Saban a year to get it going and he was in a much better situation than Butch, and already proven in the SEC. Some people, like Cowherd, were even questioning Saban early on and especially after the late lose to La. Monroe at home or whoever it was. I hate to use that as the example but there is no reason at all to question Butch just yet. It has taken a lot of coaches longer than a year to get it going in the right direction. However I've never seen anyone recruit this well to start off, and that's huge!

Richt is with Malone tonight along with other members of the coaching staff.

Not sure what to think about Richt and the Dawgs program. For all the talent they talk into playing there, the program has not exactly taken over the SEC, or even the East Division for that matter. When I see the number of players they lose due to off field issues and injuries - tells me there is a strong lack of discipline. Many injuries occur due to poor S&C programs/player participation/development. Any team can have a rash of freak injuries for a season - but over a period of 10+ years? Nah. Same with off field issues. Year after year. Maybe Richt needs to focus on taking a different tact after all those prayers. Being a proven offensive coach he seems to do well in that area with his teams. But most years their D is adequate at best and nothing more.

My hope is that Josh sees through all that as well as the mess that is called FSU or Clemson and sees that he can be a cornerstone in something big, clean, and important to his home state. He should obviously know that he can get to the NFL from WRU. If he choose somewhere else, I wish him well.

Between the four remaing HC, which do you think would be the best in home recruiter? I'll take Butch out if the equation.

Who is harder to say no to? Jumbo, clown boy. or choir boy?

In case anyone has doubts about the presence of Vandy trolls on this board......here you go.

Can we get back to Malone please?

Whatever, Dude. Do I need your permission before I renew my tickets for next year as well? I feel fortunate to have bouncers like you who have been appointed to decide who can or cannot cheer for UT.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL

You must have not been paying attention the last 10+ years.

UGA has not been an excellent program under CMR, nobody will argue that. But he has run a very consistent program without ever having any issues with the NCAA.
