And we're around the 13th or 14th best team in the SEC. What's your point? Clemson has been able to recruit with all but the top SEC teams the last 5 years, and unlike UT, they've had some actual meaningful games and BCS bowl games on their resume.
Just as importantly, they have one of the nation's top QB recruits incoming, we don't have one at all.
We're not in a position to mock any other school, especially considering we have a loss to KY and 2 losses to Vandy in recent years.
It would hardly be surprising if Malone chose Clemson.
I know most Tennessee fans are wondering what the latest is with Josh Malone so I'll pass along what I know from talking to those close to him. Paul Strelow from our Clemson site will talk to Josh today, but I wanted to let you know what I'm hearing behind the scenes.
Despite rumors of him being locked into Tennessee, etc. that's not the case right now. Malone and his family really enjoyed the visit to Clemson and now it's shaping up to be a three school race over the next week or so, between Clemson, Tennessee and Georgia. He will host in-home visits from all three schools, with Butch Jones heading over to see Malone and his family tomorrow.
Georgia is also expected to be in tomorrow, and Clemson is scheduled to have the last in-home visit on Dec. 2. I'd imagine Tennessee will make several trips over, but right now that's the only one I know of.
Now, I'm not saying that Tennessee is out of it, but Malone really seems to be mulling his options. From what I'm told Tennessee is also looking at some back up options in case things don't work out with Malone, including Rivals250 WR Jamil Kamara, who tweeted about interest from the Vols today.
With only a week or so left until he announces I think there's still many things that could happen but this is how things are looking as of today.
I don't like Clemson having the last in-home visit. I hope Butch goes back over there the night before his decision, if his parents will allow it. If Clemson gets to be the last group of coaches that visit before they sit down and decide, then our chances take a big hit IMO.

I thought that Malone signing papers with us gave us unlimited contact...guess I assumed that meant visits as well....
If true maybe Clemson doesn't get last in home visit ????
There's no doubt in my mind that if Worley's not hurt
they're playing in a bowl game. I think people shouldn't
dismiss the possibility that he starts next year.
Also, with a more experienced QB on 3rd & 1 , would like
to think would get us out of bad play against an all out
blitz and run the ball to the perimeter. Obviously, I can't expect a Freshman to do that.
