You can think a team is going to lose and still expect more than what you see.

See Arky in '11. There hasn't been anything near that bad, but there have been problems.

Remind when during the last 15 years when Tennessee was playing it's fourth string QB against three top 5 teams?

with a true freshman qb throwing to a ghost TE, Carson Newman wr's on the outside and depending on Toney, Coleman, Arnold, Brewer, Swafford and Probst to make plays on the last drive to get an SEC win.
Coaches aren't error free. None are. We just have little to lean on.

Losing Worley hurt us more than anyone on this board realized. Dobbs was not ready and the big losses (albeit against good teams) have happened since that time. With Worley, we got blown out against Oregon, lost to Florida (in hindsight Peterman wasn't ready), OT loss to UGA, beat USCe (Worley hurt thumb).

This is probably correct. No one's ever going to call Worley the next coming of Peyton physically, but at least he wasn't short of confidence. While Dobbs has all the physical tools in the world, the lack of confidence in his throwing has been killing him as of late.

He used to be but I took him off after he seemed to be positive in the recruiting forum lately. But now that we're going to miss a bowl I'm sure he and many others are going to be negative all off season and beyond. It amazes me that so many posters predicted 4-5 wins and now that's it's happened they're crying about it. I guess they thought missing a bowl was going to be pretty?

Back to ignore land...

Ignore is the message board equivalent of a little kid putting his hands over his ears and screaming "No, No, No, .........." when someone is saying something he does not want to hear. YOU DA MAN!!!!! :peace2:

Actually it's my equivalent of someone being too stupid to merit any consideration. I do like differing opinions even from fans of other programs. There is just too much idiocy in some people's posts and I find it more courteous to ignore them than to tell them to dive in front of a train for the sake of the human race.

That is actually the opposite of what I am saying.

I said that if all he is judging his decision on is QB position in the near future and team success the decision would be Clemson every day.

My point was if Butch has sold him on coming to TN and helping rebuild TN as an instate player then the QB situation won't matter.

If he hasn't then, yes Clemson's QB advantage is a very big deal.

Get it?

No, I followed you 100%. My response and quote was from another poster. You and I are completely on the same page.

SGM sighting after we lose to Vandy. What a surprise...where was he all spring when we were killing it in recruiting or after the USCjr game? Troll.

Still butt hurt over Kiffin, IMO. Maybe she was one of the co-eds that got 'free' rides in his Lexus?

From ESPN.

Receiver Josh Malone (Gallatin, Tenn,/Station Camp) was the last big official visitor, although it does not look as if Clemson will pull the No. 48 prospect. Malone has already signed a financial-aid agreement with the in-state Volunteers, and those on campus Saturday get the feel Malone will eventually sign a letter of intent with Tennessee, too.

I saw Malone run at the state track meet. Really fast, comparable to Jalen Ramsey, who is now starting in the FSU secondary. He's not Jeff Demps fast, but would be an easy upgrade in speed for our squad.

There's no doubt in my mind that if Worley's not hurt
they're playing in a bowl game. I think people shouldn't
dismiss the possibility that he starts next year.

Also, with a more experienced QB on 3rd & 1 , would like
to think would get us out of bad play against an all out
blitz and run the ball to the perimeter. Obviously, I can't expect a Freshman to do that.
