Agreed. Sad reality of the game. But there's going to be some good jobs open. Hope UT keeps the staff together.

There were a lot of initial complaint about the staff Butch assembled because thri named weren't known. But I think not only are they a pretty good staff but they are very loyal to butch...very cohesive. Guys like Thig, Martinez, Gillespie and Azzani may leave but I don't see them looking to leave. I'm not sure any of them are going to be offered "promotion" type jobs.

The head coach race issue has come up here before. The main point seems to be not whether the university would discriminate against a black candidate, but that there might be a good number of high schools throughout the south where a black head coach would get limited or no access to recruits. So far Sumlin is having no problems recruiting, so that may not be the case.

I agree. We're starting to see the benefits of coaches who are familiar with each other and know about the other's habits. Just like our OL, they have gelled and know the tendencies of the other coaches.

Just what kind of pills did you prescribe for yourself this morning, Doc? :eek:hmy:

I like the way you think, though.

Hey Kid,

Oncall this weekend, between hospital call/rounds, daughters dances classes, son's baseball practice and cub scouts, sleep deprivation kinda cranks up the old imagination quite a bit :)

Sleep deprivation can be more mind altering than many pills. But its is mainly a wickedly vivid imagination hehe

Lol what? Aren't most recruits black? Did you originally write this post in 1950?

A&M is known for being much more conservative than Texas at Austin. I am not in on the Universities inner political workings, but my opinion is that Texas would not blink at hiring a black coach if he was the best available.

Austin is one of the coolest/most liberal towns in America. If I were to live outside of TN, it'd be in Austin (awesome alt country scene).

They couldn't care less what color their coach is, as long as he wins.

I honestly don't know enough about the picture to have an opinion. Context and the personality of the individual probably means a lot in that photo. Are we sure that picture was even taken in the past couple months?

It was posted on twitter as being at last weeks game. Not exactly what I would call a dignified thing to do when the face of your university is suspended under a cloud of allegations regardless of the context

Still don't see the big deal. Manziel was guilty of nothing (that was proven) and has been doing that gesture the last 2 years. Prez was having fun with his students.

People just like to get their panties in a wad when the media tells them they should.

Agree to disagree. IMO presidents are held to a higher standard.

Given the circumstance, its inappropriate. I dont get all bent outta shape over it but understand people that do. It's just not the best decision.
