Not to sound racist but Texas would not hire Franklin. Why, because he is black. You can disagree with me if you want but Texas is more bass ackward then anywhere Elise in the country. I don't agree with but that is a fact.

Congrats. Your post has reached number one on the charts for this week. The DA top 40.

Sigh...every time anyone prefaces a sentence with "not to sound racist" the sentence immediately following is almost always racist.

I will edit it for you say that it says: I am a racist and this is my bigost opinion". You are an idiot my friend! Am I perfect no, but I am not a racist.

Fwiw I agree with your original post for the most part. I saw nothing wrong with your opinion

I don't know if he'll take the job but I'd bet anything Texas will make a serious run at Saban if they decide to let Brown go. They're one of the few schools in CFB I could see getting Saban to leave Bama. It's not like he has anything left to prove in the SEC. If he takes another job it'll either be Texas, USC or off to the NFL again.

And no way in hell Texas or USC offer James Franklin the job, they can do a lot better than that. Laughable. He's not even beat a single ranked team yet, folks. Let's pump the brakes a little on Jimmy being The Bear. JMO

If the stories about JF and a coverup are valid then he will not be coaching anywhere. It tells me something that his attorney and not a university spokesperson is making the comments for him. If he's got an attorney speaking for him on this matter then he is worried about what is going to come out. JMO
The Metro police have repeatedly said that the investigation is ongoing.

But....Chris Simms switched from Tennessee to Texas cuz he saw racial divides in Knoxville while Austin was shiny happy people! :)

Thanks bruin, but I edited it so that I am the only person in Volnation history to be a racist. I guess that makes me number 1 in two categories.

Don't goto the Football Forum. If was ok for a while, but now the stupidest people in the world have swarmed in. I'm guessing they are GVX refugees.

Ha. Not surprised. I rarely go there. I'm sure for them the sky is falling because we've "only" won our first two games by a combined 97-20 score.

From my standpoint, I have nothing to complain about with the overall team or coaching staff to this point. They aren't perfect, but I can already see a night and day improvement from recent years. Yesterday would have been a blowout loss if last year's staff were still here...

The only player I'm genuinely concerned about at the moment is Worley, but after a somewhat decent second half yesterday I'm willing to give him a little more space.

Also, if (or when) we go 1-5 over the next month and a half, I have no plans to moan about the coaches or team. It's clear we have roster concerns and that each of the five big teams we play is legitimately better than us in most areas. Even if we play our hearts out, some of them can still crush us. I may have to check out of here for a while, though, in order to keep my blood pressure at a normal rate. I'm sure I'm in the minority on my views on this point.

Even though I will always discuss ways I think might improve our team this is exactly how I feel as well

Perhaps racist isn't the word, but I don't know of one the fits better....stereotyping, perhaps? Which, IMO. is just a form of racism.

My point is, this isn't pre-civil rights era, while racism is undeniably still alive and well, it irritates me to no end when people accuse major institutions of being racist when there's little to no evidence of such, recently.

You can call me an idiot, or whatever you like. Doesn't change the fact that you're stereotyping an entire university based on nothing more than location, the demographic of their fan base and/or administration, and their history of being a school in the south/southwest.

If Mississippi State is foreward thinking enough to hire Sylvester Croom, then the tea sippers in Austin are waaay out ahead.

I agree with this. There's a tendency to take the greatest player to ever play a given position for Tennessee, and trash any subsequent player who doesn't compare.

I was always a Bray fan. He was a knuckle head and melted sometimes under pressure, but he didn't get much help from his coaching staff or defense. If we had even a top 50 type defense last year, he would be remembered much more fondly.

As for AJ, I hear all the criticism and understand the points made here. But given the status of our roster, I'm not sure we have better options. Plus, you are right, he's been well regarded by every coaching staff we've had as well as a lot of other analysts and SEC coaching staffs. Must be a reason for it. I appreciate him, personally.

I'd love to have at least have a Marvin Mitchell at MLB. I don't need a Jerod Mayo, Kevin Simon, or Al Wilson. :) Just a Marvin Mitchell and our defense would be much better.

A&M is known for being much more conservative than Texas at Austin. I am not in on the Universities inner political workings, but my opinion is that Texas would not blink at hiring a black coach if he was the best available.

The pic if the A&M president giving the show me the money sign in honor of manzel tells me they are far from conservative in that administration

If 1 candid picture of an individual taints your view of the whole administration of a university, that's on you IMO.

I know I just found it offensive for a college President.

I honestly don't know enough about the picture to have an opinion. Context and the personality of the individual probably means a lot in that photo. Are we sure that picture was even taken in the past couple months?

I can't speak for all universities but I would wager a substantial majority of university administrations are more liberal in their leanings than anything...and I speak from experience.

Okie dokie. I'm not only speaking of the administration but also the student body, alumni, and cities each resides in.
