Nah, I was just unaware you could pay for it all anywhere right now. I ordered off amazon as well and know that they don't normally charged your card til shipmentI guess we'll both be fine. I don't know if it was because I used a new credit card for the first time or not. Here's some sort of proof that I'm not completely FOS. Would be a silly thing to lie about

I can't believe he said that in the wake of the PS4 not having a mandatory online restriction, a lower price, more powerful, and region free. This always online thing is going to hinder sales drastically. I'm almost willing to bet they change their stance on it within a year. I can understand limiting used games functionality (not that I agree with it) and of course having it for multiplayer(duh), but the feature of having to connect once per 24hrs to be able to play games on something you pay $500 plus cost of the game is mind boggling."Fortunately, we do have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity. It's called XBOX 360."
I was always an Xbox guy but they lost me. I'm certain they'll lose many others as well.
Quite honestly, I wouldn't even buy the One of if was only 100 dollars. They can take their piece of crap kinect, 24 hour connection, activated used games etc. and shove it up their butt. Mainly because I don't want the kinect watching me while I'm shoving things up my butt. That's private man...
I think Xbox fans are kidding themselves if they don't believe there will be a huge drop off in sales... permanently. The only way I'll ever consider buying another Xbox is if Playstation goes the same route. Let's just put it this way... I don't buy used games or sell/trade in my old games but it pisses off even me that it's no longer an option.
I've bought and still own basically every single console since the NES and I'm fairly certain an Xbox One will never grace my household. Maybe when a friend's system dies and we decide it would be funny to hurl it off the roof, but aside from that, what a piece of crap. I have two original Xbox's that I bought brand new and neither one work. And I sent in my Xbox 360 2 or 3 times. Add in all of these new restrictions and you've got something I have no desire to ever own.

I'll be adding the PS4 at some point but the Xbox One, not so much. And as someone else mentioned, when the servers go down... does that mean the system is unplayable? The days of collecting video games are over in Microsoft land? Your system just becomes a giant paperweight with unplayable games because you have to be connected 24/7 and there is no server to connect it to. If that's the case, that's the worst thing I've ever heard. That means the NES 40 years after it's release date would be more advanced than the Xbox One 10 years after it's release date because at least you can actually still play the f'n thing.
As for the always online thing, you only have to connect once every 24 hours. I can't speak for what's coming, but as someone who has subscribed to XBL since 2004, I can tell you that I can't once remember a time that the service was completely offline for a full 24 hour period. It's not like PSN where it has to go offline for a month. That's not to say it isn't possible, just that they have almost a 10 year track record of it not happening.
For those concerned with the Kinect, you could always have it face the wall and then turn it around when you want to use it.
I think that there are certain controls with the UI that require the use of the camera...........at least thats how I understood it. I sometimes want to play naked and dont want my package shown all over the internet any more than it already is.

Care to elaborate??
Well, MS could pay an RM team to conduct research via standard methods (which I'm sure they do), but they can also require users to purchase AND use a device like Kinect that aids in monitoring how, when and why their consoles are being used. Couple that with the active internet connection requirements and you have a heck of a built-in RM device sitting in your living room. One that you had to pay for, no less.
Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.
My biggest issue with Kinect is that MS is giving gamers ZERO option to not own it. They're stuck with it whether they want it or not and it has to be connected whether they want it to be or not. Sure they can turn it off but what about those who didn't want the damn thing in the first place? It's the very reason why the system is 499.99 instead of 399.99 like Sony, who decided to you know, give their owners the OPTION to own their camera or not.
