Yeah, there is absolutely no difference between hiring coaches that have been successful division 1 coaches (albeit at a lower level) and Buzz Peterson or Galatin High schools staff.

Go look at the list of recruits he brought in, he was one of our top recruiters. Also, it is not his fault DD got fired. Had Dooley not been fired Derrick Green would've been an ee here per Hubbs.

i did like jay alot as a former vol and vfl but after this he is not a vfl he is a punk.you just do not leave like this.i now have someone i despise more than lame kiffen

Not really, because we should be able to do better than both of them. Even Dooley hired a better staff than this.

We couldn't get Tee back and now we lose Graham. Two guys that deep down I believe love UT. Something is still rotten over there.

Dooley had a better staff on paper than Urban's staff he took to UF. But hell while wait for the season to start let's fire Jones and his staff now.

Until everything comes out about the circumstances of his departure it would probably be smart to reserve judgment on the situation

Honestly, I think it depends on strategy. Do you wanna hire people you're comfortable with, or pay more and get a bunch of great assistants and hope the staff meshes well?

It's worked (and failed) both ways.

In the real world it is really odd to take a lateral move from a place that you just said a few weeks back in the paper was a place you loved and there were some things more important than money.

As long as you're not an incompetent fool like Derek Dooley, the staff will mesh just fine. The solution is to hire the best assistants possible, but as you can see Jones has issues getting those guys to come here or stay here.

Since you are such an "expert" evaluation of assidtant coaches how about pointing out what makes them successful at a lower level but will prevent them from being successful at a higher level unlike Urban's staff?
