OH plez!!! I'm not gonna look up the links because they are everywhere about how he was never really interested in coaching at UT. Gruden was never coming here. His agent said so, and Gruden had no real interest.
Myself, along with the vast number of folks believe there were, however, a few made up stories about how Hart and Gruden were "close". How they had the money for Gruden but not the assistants he wanted, ... that was in negotiation, ... ad nauseum.
Now... you say he "was offered everything he wanted and he still said no."
I'm not calling you out or calling you names, I don't know where you got that information. You may actually believe it.
But, No, I do not believe Gruden was offered "everything he wanted".
I do believe Hart made overtures, Gruden said he wasn't interested, and that was it. His agent was barely involved until the rumors started flying, and then only to say, Gruden was not interested.
If you're going to make statements that fly in the face of everything out there, web or print journalism, then you really need to provide solid proof or you'll wind up being the kid who cried wolf. And you may indeed have that proof, I've never seen it.
