He's shutting it off after tomorrow (Thursday)," said Ridgeland head coach Mark Mariakis. "They don't want anymore contact with anybody so I think all three schools are coming tomorrow and will make one last pitch to him. At that point he's going to shut it down and make his announcement on Wednesday."

"I'm going to meet this weekend with (the Bell family) and they are going to start the decision making process," Mariakis continued. "After Thursday there will be no more input from any of the colleges. It will be coach (Everett) Withers from Ohio State, Kirby Smart from Alabama, and I don't know if Tennessee is coming or which coaches they might be sending."

Bell wrapped up his official visits this past weekend with a trip to Tennessee. The Vols' coaching staff has had to work fairly quickly with the staff turnover and the trip to Knoxville was a success, according to Mariakis.

"It went very well," he said. "I think they were pleasantly surprised and just amazed at the visit. It really made an impact."

Ohio State got the first visit from Bell two and a half weeks ago and the Buckeyes have been right there in the hunt since day one.

"I think from the get go, they've had a strong relationship with coach (Urban) Meyer and coach Withers," Mariakis stated. "I think coach Withers has been so persistent on his calls and visits. Everything about him, Vonn and his family have been very impressed with."

Sandwiched between the Ohio State and Tennessee visits was a trip to Alabama. The Crimson Tide were believed to be the leaders at one point for Bell while the more recent rumors have them possibly running behind the Buckeyes and the Volunteers. Regardless of the validity of the rumors, the National Champs are still very much in the picture.

"Rumors are going to fly, that's just the nature of the beast," Mariakis said. "Alabama is still Alabama and he had a great visit with them. They've been on top of the phone calls and the visits and they just hired the new defensive backs coach, Greg Brown, I think he's coming tomorrow with Kirby Smart. He's come in before by himself and he's just tried to maintain that relationship with Vonn. They have done a great job staying on top of things in this whole process."

Things will likely be kept very tight-lipped over the next week and there will certainly be plenty of rumors but Mariakis maintains that there is a reason that a decision has not been announced yet and that is because a decision has yet to be made privately.

"I think it's really close," he said. "I think it's very taxing on him and that's why they are going to shut it off on Thursday, to give him three or four days to take everything in and try and come to a conclusion this weekend on what they are going to do. It's very emotional for him because all three schools have been amazing, very professional, and he's built a relationship with all of them."

Thanks for trying to get this thread back on track

Btw: The biggest piece of trash truck I have ever seen in my life had US EXPRESS on side door. I felt sorry for the drivers. Thought us ex had new rigs. Maybe those guys pissed some folks off? Anyhow I felt bad for them because I saw it in Phoenix, and it said Chattanooga on the side, and I was missing Tennessee.

I guess back to Von Bell...... Hope he is a vol :)

Us Xpress has a big ass hub in Chattanooga. Good company to team with. Have a few buddies that work there.

Your buddies drivers or do they work in operations? I work at the Hub in Chatt in operations as a Fleet Manager. I'm actually here now

You have a good job to work at the terminal. I hated life on the road. I would
pass people on the road in rush hour traffic and start thinking. I could see their pissed off expressions as they sat in traffic with me. I was driving a big ass truck weighing 80,000 lbs, and they were
cussing, knowing they only had about thirty mins to get home. I would have given anything to be in their shoes. Life sucks for many, but for most there are
tons of folks you pass in the road that
would give their left nut to be in that ****ty situation.

Let's start with the two five-stars that Tennessee is still in play with. Tennessee did nothing but impress Vonn Bell and his family last weekend when they were in on their official visit. Bell really had a good time and it continues to help that he knows a lot of people, athletes and students alike, that are at Tennessee. He's no doubt very comfortable. In talking to him earlier this week, it was very clear Tennessee left a big impression with him.

Also, Bell's mother has really taken a liking to Butch Jones as she's more worried about Bell the person than Bell the athlete and the Vol head man has gone a long way to helping her know that at Tennessee he will be taken care of off the field as much as on it. While mom seems very comfortable with Bell being a Vol, it's still not clear what Vonn Bell himself is thinking and he's tough to read. A lot of signs are pointing to Bell leaning towards Tennessee, this much is clear, but Ohio State and Alabama continue to push and were at the school on Thursday. Ohio State is the Vols' main competition here as Bell has a good relationship with that staff.

You won't have to. Bell will be a Vol. after he goes public, I won't tell you I told you so

Your jig is up homie. A mod pasted an old post you made saying you hate the Vols. from here on out you have been exposed.

People fail to realize this isnt personal its business... The legacy Tenn had in the 90s is Bama now with the most 1st round picks the past 4 years and still going.

Give me a damn break troll. Your team is pretty weak in the grand scheme of things.
