Gundy, Strong, Fisher, Fedora, Mora are all excellent hires. We can nit pick them to death but all of them are as good as there are in the East right now. Spurrier is probably the best, but he's in SC.

Worst part about Gundy is 3 mil buyout!!!! Put that on top of his 4-5 mil, plus another 4-5 mil for asst. coaches??? This makes him way over paid!!!! Live Strong, Mr. Hart!!! Live Strong

I think its funny that on the louisville boards todsy they are freaking out about strong going to UT now. I asked that question last night an posted hubbs quote and the D*** moderator over there called me a troll and banned me, the same moderator that is freaking out today. Haha I hope UT gets Strong, icing on the cake.

Its not my money. If it was Mora would be wearing orange right now and Tee would have a big lump of cash in his pocket standing right next to him.

I actually feel the opposite.

Most of these coaches have to notify their ADs when they are being solicited for jobs, anyways. Just because they don't tell reporters doesn't mean they haven't told the AD.

Putting it out in public, I believe, is a sign he's really interested in going. It prepares the fan base and keeps it from being a shock to them.

I do agree about the cost. Financially, Strong seems like the better hire but I think Gundy would be awesome too.

If we hire Gundy over Strong I will be sick and we will regret it for a long time.

Gundy is not a good recruiter, has average results with out Weedon and Blackmon, runs a pass heavy spread offense, has had awful defenses, and would require over 4 million a year. No thanks.

It kills me that everyone just assumes that since a coach hasn't had good defenses in the past that they wont here. I have a gut feeling that no matter who we hire that dave hart will want the best staff on hand to help this program achieve greatness again.

Winner winner, chicken dinner. Same sh!t, different day. He does this every year. He keeps pushing to get more money and control of the program. Can't say that I blame him but he's playing the game IMO.

Gundy is the kind of coach that can take Tennessee out of the mess it's in... If UT is serious about contending, give him a crap load of $ and let him bring in the best D coord he can get. I'm down with Gundy!

On top of that he has never cracked the top 25 in recruiting that I have been able to find.

He has put a lot of players in the NFL... 2 elite ones that I can think of now are Dez Bryant and Blackmon. The man is a good coach and a winner... that is what Tennessee desperately needs. And I think he'd be a better recruiter with the Tennessee brand behind him more so than OSU.

* arkansas - sources tell us that the hogs have been turned down by james franklin, gary patterson, les miles, chris petersen and it's not looking good on mike gundy either. Patterson, petersen or gundy could reconsider, but as of now, it looks like art briles is next in line.

* auburnundercover reports auburn has interviewed gus malzahn and will interview kirby smart and chad morris. A decision is expected wednesday.

* tennessee met with mike gundy yesterday and it expected to talk with bo pelini and butch jones. Charlie strong and larry fedora remain in the mix.

* fsu coach jimbo fisher is expected to remain with the seminoles.

Based on the fact that that over an 8 year period he has consistent track record of poor defenses at a school that is willing to put money into their program and hire a good staff just like you said Hart would do. Gundy has a track record of hiring good offensive coordinators and was even named as having one of the top coaching trees in a recent ESPN article, defensive coordinators though not so much. Hell, if we are going to assume things just magically change why not hire Joker Phillips, just because he couldn't win at Kentucky doesn't mean he couldn't here.

Charlie Strong in his Monday (12/3) press conference did not address the rumors that he's interviewed with Tennessee and perhaps Auburn:

If we end up hiring Gundy, my Hart/Cheek troll theory will finally be confirmed for once and all.
