Does the interview really mean that much? I would hope Hart would decide based on body of work and then use the interview just to confirm a decision. Isn't that the whole point of paying coaching search firms ungodly amounts of money?

This has been an interesting search. Every candidate could be our next coach or be using us for a raise. Tangled web for certain.

Gruden thread guys spent several years in middle school explaining to friends that Santa does exist contrary to parents' reports.

Anyone who doesn't believe there were real talks with Gruden and UT are fooling themselves. And those mocking Gruden believers are going to look pretty silly if it actually happens. Same with folks mocking non-believers. How about we all just wait until the coach is announced and stop trashing other Vol fans? Since almost all of us don't know who's ultimately going to be hired.

I believe Gruden is going to be the new coach. Most in this thread don't. Can't we just agree to disagree instead of make fun of each other? At the end of the day none of us know who's going to be hired.

Seriously though, the hostility toward people who believe one way or another is weird. I think people are stupid for hoping we get certain candidates, but we truly have 0 idea who's going to be the coach. I do hope Hart is shown the door quickly if he wastes all the new money on some chump though.

It depends which coach that is? If someone asks for joker Phillips I'm not allowed to think they're stupid? And if Hart hires Joker I'm crazy for wanting him gone?

I'll be honest, I'm still holding out the slightest hope that one of those insane smokescreen theories is right and it actually is Gruden.

And I don't even like Gruden. I just want to win again.

I'll never make fun of anyone who thought we might could get Gruden. I was went them as well. Would have been the best thing to have happened to this program since Neyland, and possibly even better than that.

Also, if anyone cares, I've been saying Auburn would definitely hire Petrino but some of the big boosters (notably the YellaWood idiot) are digging their heels in.

Thus Gary Patterson is being interviewed.

You guys know I'm one that is not on board with the Gruden thing, but you guys are entitle your opinion and belief of who the next coach is. You will not hear any flaming from me cause I could be just as wrong. I will support whoever is hired. :peace2:

What's the theory as to why they would delay hiring a coach rather than just announce it?
