This thing was so close to being booked. Did Hart really think he could cut it off and not have the big $$$ rip him a new one? Lot's of people talk about Jim Haslam with the money, but Bill as chair of the BOT has more than just $$ behind him. Forget him being Gov, he has more influence over Hart than Cheek.

I do not believe this is dead. If there any any open window left in this deal, Hart will get his butt chewed by the powers that be, and he will go back to Gruden with his tail between his legs and cave in. The only other option is Hart going down in flames to a pit of shame, caused by his own ego.

New LWS cliff notes post says Haslam wasn't in the Gruden camp, as in, not pushing for him to be hired.

The plot thickens.

This is the first I've heard of any boosters meeting face to face with Gruden, let alone obtaining a verbal agreement. I wish it were all true, but it is difficult to believe it all when it's based on hearsay. I don't doubt there is some truth in there.

I know nothing. Never have claimed I do. Was basically given a verbal timeline of the process by one person. Checked with a few people on here whether or not this guy would know what he said he does and they said without a doubt. Floated a few of the details and it matched. I doubt we will ever hear how this thing was botched, so I figured why not. I have been around since the beginning and haven't contributed anything. Just thought others might have heard many of these same details and we can perhaps paint a clearer picture of how this debacle went down.

Heavy hitters aren't going to give Hart the chance. I think Lamonte's message today was that he is screwing around with Little Davey. The big boys will negotiate the terms and then let Little Davey and the lawyers paper it up.

I think Haslam is pushing for us to hire Charlie Coiner.


Sorry Larry , I don't buy that one. That might be what Haslam is saying now that Gruden is saying no thanks.

Man...you guys hear and read what you want. He isnt forfeiting anything. His contract ended in 2011. If he is still owed money, it is because he agreed to defer some of it...him deferring money, doesnt mean he is forfeiting it. Even in the event he deferred money, there can be no stipulations tacked on, past his contract. He is free...he could have taken a coaching job last year, and would not have lost any money....get it?
