I want Gruden here just as much as many in the Vol fan base...
I still believe he will be here....

I understand his cautiousness about transitioning into the NCAA and recruiting....I also understand the power of a wife in family decisions.

The money concerns me. I do believe we can hire a lot of qualified coaches at this amount for a coach and Staff...many. You wave this amount in front of some and the will bite.....

I think Gruden is an ultimate selection but he is not the only one.....

This kind of money, combined with our facilities, a revived fan base and our recruiting budget will land a big fish if not Gruden.

If not Gruden then we get a minow

Anyone think the Browns part is what's the killing the deal? If I woke up tomorrow and knew I owned part of the Browns I'd feel like a loser.

So you're saying we should just put all the eggs in one basket and then let Gruden have the basket? If that's the case we are in a world of hurt!

I'm saying that anyone that would try to use golden as leverage to put pressure on gruden needs to be running a car wash, not an athletic dept. If hart is interviewing, he is interviewing to have a plan in place, not as leverage.

Hey Super Bowl winning coach that we have shown we are willing to do anything to get, if you don't sign soon I will hire this other coach who is begging to come with a 45% win percentage. Take that!

I never said Golden. I said other interviews. I don't care who you're negotiating with you have to have contingencies. Gruden is not the only coach out there. You can get a lot of coaches with the money being tossed about. The numbers would rival several NFL staffs.

Does that end the buyout? Maybe it's just a future promise, I know they are close...I dunno, it's a rumor and came from Bama Booster...I do not say how accurate it is.

Dooleys buyout is structured as such he can go to work tomorrow and still get the full buyout. He pwned Hamilton.

lol, maybe that's his penalty if he bolts. Instead of a buyout he has to own some of the Browns. That'll keep him locked up at UT

Hart could be a figment of our imagination, or better yet a troll.

Who is this Mr. Hart? Has he had any experience with a high profile coaching hire or is this his maiden voyage?

Reply!

In all fairness to Dave, he offered Fulmer the HC job at East Carolina when Fulmer was OC here. Would have turned out to be a pretty darn good hire. But Fulmer didn't go.

If rumors about Gruden wanting more money for his assistants are true, why the heck would he let this change his decision to take the job or not? Okay so lets just say for example UT only wants to give Gruden 3 million for assistants but Gruden thinks he needs 5 million to get the guys he wants. Doesn't Gruden know that he could get 1 or 2 of his guys for that price and then some less prominent people to fill in other positions? He could do just as good a job no matter who the heck his assistants are. The very fact that he is head coach means that we will have every major recruit looking at UT as a top choice. And once he has his recruits he will have a top ten program competing for SEC championships, which I am sure is his goal in taking the job. It is just hard for me to believe that Gruden would be happy with the money that UT is offering for him but not take the job because he cant get the "perfect" staff to coach with him.

cue the impossible possibilities crew!

hey..what if Sean Payton coaches Wr's with gruden and we could get Mike Ditka to be Juicebox boy. Deeeerrrrrrrp!
