Official Jon Gruden Thread XII

I am glad they asked him this morning, I view it as a positive. ESPN is setting it all up for when the news breaks, especially when he referenced he was trying to keep his job. Jon knows he could do MNF as long as he wants to do it to begin with.

After listening to that, I'm even more convinced he's coming. He pretty much stopped them in their tracks and told them to move on.

It is very convenient for him to address and deny the contract allegations. I believe his attorneys and our AD have been talking. He just hasn't signed a contract or been presented with a final contract.

Kind of weird that he would dismiss it this morning.

Seems to me that he didn't have a choice when asked like that on air.

This is neither positive or negative. What I want to know is, has anyone confirmed that Hart is out of office todayvand meeting with Gruden?

RT @JasonLaCanfora Browns release statement denying TV report. Say Jimmy Haslam not involved in UT search. No ownership stake for Gruden

The comment about his wife and kids, just reminds me of all the posts OldVol keeps saying: "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy".

If Gruden isn't hired - this has been the biggest public relations disaster in recent memory for Tennessee Athletics.

The Gruden Fever has taken over.

Hart could go out and hire an absolutely Grade-A coach, and get nothing but negativity from the fanbase during the offseason.

Very true.

The time to kill this story (either by getting him to politely decline, or leaking something via Hubbs) was 3 or 4 days ago.

It gets exponentially worse (should Gruden not be hired) every day it continues.

Something (either a rejection or accepting of terms) has to break either today or tomorrow. It absolutely has to.

Otherwise, UT has managed to make the worst PR move in their history (which is saying a lot).

If Hart truly is waiting until this NYC banquet...then I weep for the future of UT football.
