I love Cutcliffe as a OC, but would he really be a championship level head coach at Tennessee? Would he really generate enough excitement and be a good enough recruiter to get us back to being top 10 in recruiting?

I know most are skeptical about Gruden coming but outside of him is there any other coach that is a possibility that would be considered a homerun hire by the majority of VN?

We need someone who can bring this fanbase together.

If Gruden doesn't come FF will have a melt down and no one will ever please them other than Gruden. I have others besides Gruden that I would be happy with. Strong, Taggart, and Patterson.

Cutcliffe's name is being brought up more & more. Hubbs even mentioned it as a possibility the other night.

so cutcliffe would get a huge offer and bring his whole ace recruiting staff from Duke?

He is a great offensive mind, but we need better recruiters to get back competing quicker. He seemed adamant last time around he wouldnt have a deal without bringing his staff, despite what people say happened. Not sure this is the type of hire that unites the fan base and gets us recruiting where we need to be.

Petterson or Patterson would make most happy I would think. I agree with you though. There are others that I would be happy with. Agreed on Taggart and Strong.

Recruiting to Duke is a lot different than UT. I'm sure he would be bringing a good portion of his staff, but not all. Love to see a solid proven DC hire for him.

Big fan o Taggart...guy has some connects in Central and SW Fla. Getting a solid staff would be the only issue imo. He likes a few guys on his staff but I question if they could excel at a biggesr school. Crazy that Ky isn't even giving him the time of day.

I do wonder why UK doesn't seem to be considering him. He seems like he would be a great coach there.

Gruden is the only coach I think 99.999% of the fanbase would be happy with day 1

not sure i agree that this is a necessity though, there are several coaches i think that could come in and win - and when they win doesnt matter who it is this fanbase will unit quick - a 10 win season would now look like the promised land and people would jump on board the Voltrain real quick regardless of who was driving

Several names are being linked to KY. Petrino, Cutcliffe, Dykes, Taggert, Pease, Texas Tech's Neal Brown, Atlanta Falcons OC Dirk Koetter and possibly Fulmer. A betting service actually put out odss that Petrino is 2:1 favorite for the job.

Isn't Bellotti Oregon's AD?

Another former Duck HC? Solid for KY, Belotti would be a great p/u for that program but don't see it happening unless KY commits to facility upgrades, etc.
