The Runner's thread

Ya'll know I'm a 5 finger freak but after 2 weeks I'm about ready to declare Minimus the greatest shoe ever.

I went looking for some new shoes last weekend because I am due some and couldn't find but one pair of trail running shoes and they didn't feel good on my feet they were a Nike shoe I think. The running store here in town wasn't open so I am going to try and hit them up when they are. Going to try and buy a pair of regular running shoes and a trail running pair too. Any suggestions other than the Minimus for trail running shoes?

I still love my Brooks PureCadences for the road and I still love my Mizuno Wave Ascend 7s for my trail runs.

Used to run in Asics trail shoe. It was pretty good.

also note that Fleet Feet will take all sorts of measurements, like how you walk/run via video, pronation, feet type, etc to perfectly match your feet to a specific shoe. I highly recommend them. The guy in Kingsport was extremely helpful.

Anybody know where the closet Fleet Feet is to Chattanooga? I have never seen or heard of one except for people talking about them on here.

If you have a decent running store I would go there. Fleet feet is ok but a knowledgeable person at a running store can get the information by looking at your old shoes and stance.

Just from a quick web search, Fast Break Athletics looks like a pretty good store. They have several manufacturers and their staff seems experienced.

We have a store here that is geared towards soccer and running. I just don't know if they have the knowledge or not. I have only purchased one pair of shoes from them and I liked them.

I ultimately think it comes down to the salesperson. The guy at Fleet Feet was great. I've dealt with other stores that just came up short. A lot of times brands give discounts or even free shoes to the salespeople and it makes them biased.

Fleet Feet is awesome

OS, this place is in Chattanooga, btw.

I know there used to be a place called that but I thought they went out of business. I will have to check into that.

3.2 last night 7:19 pace. The wind was cold last night. Did some sprints after my run and a couple of stadiums too.

Haven't been able to run. Work and school is killing me. Can't wait to get back out there once this next week finishes up.

Just signed up for a virtual half marathon. Basically I run 13.1 miles and submit my time to the website. I guess that's how it works. And I get a finishers medal. Should be interesting

Wow. Never noticed this thread. I am a runner. I am a bit of a lardazz so most of my runs probably won't impress you.

I broke my record today though by running 12km around my area in 1hr 15mins. For me that's amazing. I am just over 200 pounds. (Bad I know but I am doing something about it.)

I have been running for just over a year on and off and have been in a solid routine of running on average 5 times a week since the summer... I do weights too.

This thread can be very helpful stephen. Encouragement and ideas abound. Keep it up and just remember that its not how long it takes you to finish the distance just that you finish it.

Went to Fleet Feet and got fitted for some shoes before I left Knoxville. I got some Brooks Adrenline (sp). I liked the way they fit. I will post some pictures later of them. Can't wait to go run in them. My try and go tonight.
