The Runner's thread

hmm, I am new to Volnation (as a poster) and just found this thread! I am a fairly new runner - a little over a year. I ran my first 1/2 marathon in April in Nashville. I have been running 5k around Knoxville lately. I will never be a fast runner, but at least I am doing something. Kind of getting burned out on it and trying to stay motivated. Glad to have found this thread!

Welcome to this thread and this thread can help you stay motivated for sure.

Welcome. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other

Not quite, more like 5 miles...

Just run 9km today too, same route. Don't feel quite as bad today. Which is nice. A break tomorrow though should go down well.

tip - don't always run the same route. a different route will keep you physically and most important mentally challenged.

Cheers, I don't usually it's just because my mate who came with me wanted to do it, that's only the second time I had done that route.

New PR today. Got 2.74 mi. in 26:52. That's the first time I've ever run under 10 min/mile. Actually had negative splits, even though the last two legs were by far the harder than the first.

This is a huge personal milestone for me. I'd been stuck hovering around the 10:20 mark for months. It's amazing what you can do when you decide to push yourself.
