I believe it is real and also very possible part of the JG puzzle. It's easily the reason why JG was speaking with kiffen and others.

But it also says there are big hurdles which seem to be left off your info.

Bruin I believe you are on to something with this.... I think if Gruden has cooled toward us .... that is the reason

reason for edit: use to wish I could spell now I wish I could type

Nothing in my thinking has changed based on what Ainge said. It is all about now having to watch this idiot Dooley be the head coach at my alma mater for even ONE more day. It is insulting to our whole fanbase and for every day that passes I am losing faith that this administration can handle the job search or anything else for that matter.

Is it true that gruden if accepted only wants a 5yr deal to get TN turned around can someone help me w this can't remember where I seen it at?

No....we have not. Ainge reported this morning that Gru is not coming. None of us have heard anything to indicate this, but apparently we've lost all credibility because of it.

BCarter has back off a little, but that is the only one.

You all haven't lost any credibility in my eyes..That still holds firm...I was just wondering why people were freaking out.

But why has bcarter backed off?

I'm still hanging on because there is literally nothing else to hang on to with DD as our coach, except basketball season... smh.

If Cheek gets canned, how are they going to sell it to the public where it doesn't sound childish? Technically he is being canned because his academic requirements are too rigid and aren't as relaxed as other big programs in the SEC who have placed winning football games over academic integrity. To most people, who aren't rabid football fans, what Cheek is doing sounds like a good thing.

Freakin Univ politics!

You know Bruin some things just cannot be made public knowledge that was told to me. I respect my "source" and would not do anything to jeapordize that trust.

I agree with this, and have said UT for several weeks. Best we can expect is to split November. Troy should have won that game....and nearly did.

No..Troy should not have won that game. We "nearly" scored 2 more TDs and missed a chip shot FG. I know that is irrelevant to this discussion, but to be fair we actually should have beat them worse.

Some of you people need to get a reality check...you have no idea whats going on
but because 1 radio host has jumped off the bandwagon, you all go ape chit...

I have no idea whats going to happen, almost all of you have no idea, there may be 3 or 4
here that know, but I'm not going to call them out if something they claimed
doesn't happen...they are just passing along info...

me,I'm going to sit back, relax, wait till after KY and see the direction the program will move toward...none of us will know till then...get over it...all you other people flinging chit all over the place,I pray Gruden does come just so DTO,Boro,OV,BCarter and the the others can just shove chit down your throats for the forseeable future...

so sit back, relax, take the little bit of info that we can get, right or wrong, and wait to see what Hart is going to do...

Could you imagine losing to Kentucky in football two straight years? I really don't see that happening, but with Dooley as coach anything is possible.

I think Kentucky is so awful that not even the great Derek Dooley can lose to them. If the players quit like last year's game (don't blame them for having to play under Doolz) then that is the only way I see UT losing. So I guess indirectly it would still be Dooley's fault haha.

I am now in a win-win position the rest of the season. If we win, I will obviously be happy, but losing now carries the positive that it will most likely seal Dooley's fate.

Hart needs to say something. Tell us Derek will be evaluated a the end of the season. Tell us you're sticking with him. Tell us you ate a chicken biscuit for breakfast. Just tell the fans something.

To be fair they shouldn't have scored more than 21 pts. But lets not dwell on that.

TIFWIW....I was just told by one if my guys, a letterman, that Cheeks and Hart are both targeted....and have been since summer. Cheeks first, Hart sometime thereafter. This goes far beyond football.

This is the second time he's told me this. Cheek is obviously most pressing. Hart wouldnt happen until after all the coaching stuff is settled. There is a large faction of lettermen and boosters that want them both gone.

Again...TIFWIW.

Ainge makes it sound like there are hurdles which Gruden can't overcome on his end to coach in college. That doesn't make any sense. Surely Gruden and his lawyers weren't so shortsighted that they signed contracts with ESPN or sponsors that wouldn't allow him to get out if he wanted to coach again.

I think Aingey, unbeknownst to him, is being used as a smoke deploying agent.

I posted awhile back about Jimmy Cheek. Everyone wondered why I did. Folks, the way I see it, there is going to be a fundamental change in the reporting and power of the athletic department, the president, and chancellor.

Do you think that thunder is happy that the Thorton center is run by the university and not the athletic department? This is an opportunity to change things and take back control. With Bill Haslam as the governor, these things can move in the right direction.

That is literally word for word what Doug Matthews said on his show yesterday.

Not sure why you'd let him hire a new coach if you wanted him gone.
