I don't think you understand what credibility is. SBV and several others said "He WILL be the head coach at UT next season."

They didn't simply come in here and say "here is what I've heard..."

Therefore, what they have to say in the future holds less credibility.

As I have said 100 times I am far more concerned with getting Dooley the eff out and hiring a quality replacement. Gruden would be awesome, but he is not the only answer to our question. The question on Dooley has been answered.

I do not expect to hear a single thing from UT about the coaching situation until after KY possibly early December so there will be monumental speculation but no real answers imo. Losing the next two could change things imo, but even that is uncertain.

Back to 50-50 on Gruden. Not backtracking, I just think something happened that either will or will not be overcome based on yesterday and posts from others that I know are connected.

As an aside I think odds are any player that is qualified to enter the draft and projected early 3rd round or higher will most likely be gone at the end of the season regardless of a hire. Too many questions with that much money at stake. This is just my opinion. If it were me I would be out, ESP after 3 years of Dooley.

There were a TON of things happening that would lead one to suggest that a deal was finalized. This is above and beyond other sources.

These things that took place wouldn't suggest a quick unthought full decision to take the job and then reject it.

OCI said it was already a "done deal" and good to go and Gruden is set to be the next HFC.

Egg meet face.

Can't wait to hear about how it WAS a done deal but it just fell through (aka, Randy Shannon) and it must be Dooley's fault or something.

Hold tight Grudenites. Ainge is even saying Hart doesn't even really know what is going on right now. This is in line with everything we have heard about the big money guys telling Hart to just hold tight and they will take care of it. GRUDEN 2012! GBFO!!!

The fact that you care so much about message board posters being "right" to the point where you revel in them being wrong is sad.

Anybody with a brain reads this info with a grain of salt as it is posted on a rumor message board.

That's why myself and other have been urging "Grudenites" to maintain some healthy skepticism. Which, according to simple-minded loonies, is apparently "trolling."

The fact that you're so bitter about all this leads me to question how much you had invested in this deal happening. Suicide is not the answer.
