Official Jon Gruden Thread V

I dont know which is worse hearing Gruden isnt coming or still not hearing the press conference announcement Dooley is officially fired. I think its not hearing about Dooley presser. I am seriously concerned after I heard Cheek wants to keep Dooley and Dave Hart wanted to be "in charge" and make the decision. That's just great. A Florida eggheaded chipmunk and a Bama/Florida St a**hole deciding the future of Tenn. football. Just freakin great.

Can any of the posters who have been saying he's coming confirm what Ainge is saying?
I've been away for a couple of days and wanted to know if those guys have been getting signals that this is not gonna happen?

Not nearly as comfortable as I was a few days ago. From the rumbles yesterday and last night something appears to have happened that is not positive. Hope to hear more when I get to work. Several people texted me asking if I "know what happened with Gruden". I haven't heard anything since Saturday and that was every former player I talked to, a NFL GM, relatives of team members, and members of Troys coaching staff that parked in C20 where we were all said they heard Gruden is coming. 24 hours later no one is saying anything and people that usually know what's going on are asking questions. To me that is a bad sign for Gruden unfortunately but again these things are fluid.

As I have said 100 times I am far more concerned with getting Dooley the eff out and hiring a quality replacement. Gruden would be awesome, but he is not the only answer to our question. The question on Dooley has been answered.

I do not expect to hear a single thing from UT about the coaching situation until after KY possibly early December so there will be monumental speculation but no real answers imo. Losing the next two could change things imo, but even that is uncertain.

Back to 50-50 on Gruden. Not backtracking, I just think something happened that either will or will not be overcome based on yesterday and posts from others that I know are connected.

As an aside I think odds are any player that is qualified to enter the draft and projected early 3rd round or higher will most likely be gone at the end of the season regardless of a hire. Too many questions with that much money at stake. This is just my opinion. If it were me I would be out, ESP after 3 years of Dooley.

What's funny is that one of Dooley's biggest supporters is in here lecturing us about being "all in" on something that may not work out.

I had to give up on the Dooley. We agree on that much. I also have stated and will hold to it, that IF Gruden ever actually is the coach, I will support him just as much.

Cheek?

God forbid anybody actually have high hopes for this program.

Cue the trolls. "Extension for Dooley! Stability!"

Dooley stays and I will turn in my fan card, and that's not happening. That is a certainty, Dooley will not be coach in 2013. Would ban bet that one lol.

Sure you do.
I'm sure that is exactly why you came to this thread.
Out of your need for the Vols to be better.
Uh?

I come here for the entertainment value mostly. I also do believe somebody has been trying to get Gruden here. I would like to know as much as you guys if he is or not. I am as much a Vol as any of you.

What a s**t show this whole month is going to be. If Gruden isn't coming, might as well fire Dooley now and start the "regular" coaching search.
