Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Gruden should take a balloon to space, jump out, and deploy a parachute with a power T on it. He will then float down to safety in the middle of Neyland Stadium. No time for training. Just go and do it.

wouldnt it suck if the press conference was only to announce that sunseri was fired and nothing else? i mean it would be great in a sense but a monumental let down at the same time

What's wrong with Mike Tirico saying "Well, Jon, I heard you got some news."

And Jon going "Well, Mike I'm taking the University of Tennessee head coaching job. I'm yada yada yada"

then having a press conference the next day?

May be a recruiting violation, I mean that definately gives him a heads up in the recruiting on MNF.

I think their is nothing wrong with it if Gruden is indeed our next coach. But wouldn't you prefer Gruden to come to UT and his first appearance of the next coach of the Vols be not at a MNF game but at Neyland stadium, where his coaching career got started?

highly doubt if we let dooley go, they announce gruden on MNF, just a terrible way to do things. Gruden (if he is indeed the next coach) needs to be on the UT campus to announce.

Kiffin announced he took the job on UT's campus. It was just the USC job. haha. I see your point about being on campus but he would come for a press conference, MNF would be all kinds of awesome, though I dont think it happens it all.

Or it could be terrible news that Palardy has gotten an extension and will be allowed to kick at UT for an additional 2 years.

I'm a bitter old man that can't pull for the Broncos after he chose them over the Titans.

Yeah, I wish the Titans could have gotten him..But I always cheer for the Broncos b/c they are my 2nd fav. team...And of course I love Peyton....:dance2:

well i agree that MNF would be a grand entrance to the college world of football and to many it would prove ESPN DOES NOT hate us...

You sir do not know what you are talking about.... I am a dyed in the wool grudenite and I have never spoken anything about Coach Dooley as a person that is disrespectful, little alone his family.

I do not believe he is the coach for Tennessee, and I believe Gruden will be and is the coach we need. It is an insult for you to come into this thread and make such general associations as that.

I am appaled that anyone who calls themself a Vol would treat any coaches family especiall his children with such disrespect :banghead2:

Waaah. This entire grooden thread has been nothing but a place, a wish hole, whatever you call it, to replace our current coach. That's fine. 3weeks ago it was a little grumbling that has, now, become an incessant Dooley bashfest. He has been called everything - you read it Coasty - yesterday he was called an azzhole on this site. How many new accounts have been created with some sort of anti-dooley name or a new grude-dude type name. It's this type of low class, knuckle dragging, mouth breathing mentality that will force any future coach or recruit to think twice about representing our university. As pervasive as social media is today you can bet that the Dooley's AND THE TEAM know it exists.

I for one think that Coach Dooley has gave his all for the University. He has represented the University with class. For what it's worth, whomever our next coach is I really feel kind of sorry for him.
