I remember Nick Saban and Les Miles both doing the same thing in both the SEC Championship Game and the National Championship Game. Guess they should be criticized and fired for that.

How many times does it have to happen before you call it a recurring mistake? When Dooley wins an NC we can compare him to either one of those guys. It is a silly argument.

Underachieving by losing to three top 15 teams? OK. I didn't think we were a top 15 team this year, but maybe I had realistic expectations.

What year can Dooley beat 3 top 15 teams in a season? Because if he ever wants to win the SEC he would have to.

Will it be next year with a young offense, and the same defensive personal? Or will it be the year after when all of these JUCO guys, and this year's junior class is gone? Will he have to have no injuries, and every break go his way?'

There will be no next year for Dooley.

OL should be able to match up with Bama DL.

If the O-Line plays the way they have been playing the past few games, it is a good a match up against any D-Line in the country. The improvement in the O-Line and our RBs has been little short of spectacular and we should be very proud of both the players and their coaches.

Regardless of the ultimate outcome of the head coaching debate, we need to do whatever is necessary to retain both coach Sam Pittman and coach Jay Graham, including a raise for each at the end of the season as incentive pay rewarding a job well done -- any time we have identified a coach who has done his job that well, it is no time to be pinching pennies or hiding behind a contract clause. Perhaps word of that attitude will get around and help us when we go to hire top tier assistants in the future.

Time...effort...and wisdom. I think they had to stop handing titles out once the board got so big.

Well I'm out then.:)

Yeah when I first joined the board I wondered about the GURU status. Thought these guys insiders or were connected but after little time spent on the board I found out that they are just like the rest of us.

I hope people dont leave early if things dont go as planned. Big recruiting weekend, would be awesome if the players and recruits know we're still rooting them on regardless of the situation.

It is unbelievable that this would even be in question during Bama week.

Have we taken the next step? We beat an NC State team that subsequently beat FSU. We have three losses to ranked SEC opponents (two on the road). We still have no senior class. The O-Line is much improved, we're running the ball, special teams coverage/return units are vastly improved, and the team chemistry is fantastic (quite a change from last year). It's difficult in today's SEC to make huge leaps. The losses are disappointing, but we likely finish the regular season 7-5, which would be the most wins since 2009. If we win the bowl game, we would finish with the most wins since 2007. We lead for the #1 RB in the nation and the #2 WR in the nation. Dooley should, and will, be given more time. People should accept the fact and support the team. As is, UT fans are killing themselves and impeding progress.

This is the post that best reflects reality and utilizes more common sense that any post to VN in the past 72 Hours.

You are living in a fantasy world where there is no reality.

That happens in virtually every game, and to every coach, due to the specialization of the game.

For those that are supporters of Dooley I'm curious about a couple things

What would have to happen the remainder of the season for you to think differently about Dooley being the best option for the future of the program?

Assuming we lose the next two & go on to finish 7-5, we have the opportunity to make a homerun hire(whoever you consider that being), would you prefer to stick with Dooley or make the change?
