Yes I noticed that too. Players executed very well on that play. And then 10.33 speed took over. You should see the Bama fans faces when they were watching CP on that play.
yeah he was impressive, im sure UT fans felt the same way about Yeldon. too bad AU didnt have anything for us to say wow about.
I was impressed with Tre Mason. I think he is their #1 back as the season progresses. McCalleb is too east-west and small.
Nah we feel we can stop him. I don't think Bama fans feel comfortable if we get our WRs matched up on your CBs without help.
SN: is Dee Miliner a better CB than Dre to you now? Told you he was a much better prospect.
yeah UTs WR will be a tough challenge, probably the toughest during the season. bama will be UTs toughest opponent in the trenches. so it should be an interesting matchup.
i didnt say milliner wasnt a better prospect i just said Dre was farther along and thats why he was the starting CB and not Milliner. but I always felt when Milliner put everything together he would be the better CB of the 2 . he was always faster and had better ball skills, he just played out of position more resulting in getting burned more. i always felt Kirkpatrick best position in the NFL would be safety.
I always felt Dre was slightly overrated JMO. But Millner really impressed me against Michigan the other night.
My biggest issue w/ Chaneys play calling Friday night was the 4th & 1 we had in the 2nd quarter when we had a great drive going & were up 22-7. We were on the verge of busting that game open. Why in the heck do you call a fake end around & then hand the ball off to Rajion up the middle w/ no lead blocker. You had to know NC State was going to blitz there.
Then we had a 3rd & 1 in the 2nd quarter I think where we lined up 4 wide & threw it. Either run a delayed draw or line up & pound it up the middle.
My other complaint is in the 4th quarter after Lane broke the long run to the 3 yard line. We ended up getting a false start penalty that made it 1st & goal from the 8 but we lined up 4 wide 3 straight times & threw it.
The bolded area sum up my main complaints. I don't know what it is sometimes. Maybe he doesn't have complete faith in our run game? But, he consistently throws and has sets like these in short yardage situations, and it's just laughable. Does he look at the probabilities of those plays versus run plays?
no, he could develop anywhere but he just like the fact of what Bama has done over the last few years with RBs, also Coach Burns is established. this is just some of the things Henry has said he likes about Bama. Position coach seems to play a big factor for some of these kids. I dont think anyone disagrees with the fact that he could get immediate PT at UT but its obvious he is looking at other factors. (coaching stability, winning, etc.)
Only reason I would want him at UA is if Tunsil commits also, other than that I hope he commits to UT.
I agree that Henry seems to be smart about analyzing multiple issues in his recruitment, position coach being one of them.
Just from the UT angle, he has said on several occasions that he wanted to see what working under Jay Graham was like (I believe this was leading up to a camp, but I'm not certain), and I have to think that if Graham can get our RB's to show improvement in their technique and ability it will be a big factor with some of the RB's we have on our board. Not necessarily DH, but someone.
That being said, I hope that these technical improvements show up in the stats column, because I believe that is the way that recruits will evaluate our coaching. That falls on the OL as much as the backs themselves, but I do believe that I can see a difference already in the fact that we have a RB coach on staff, just in the way that the players are discussing their performances/the practices. They seem much more in tune with the attributes they need to work on, and how those factor into success.
