The Runner's thread

Ran the Carolina Panthers 5k this morning and I'm lowering my time more and more. Looking to be below 20 mins soon but for now I will take a 22:25 and be happy with it.

Will be headed to play 18 with orange blazer later today if the rain stays away.

:good!: 22:25 is a great time for a 5k. Congrats on the time. I am kind of in the same boat and would live to be right at 20 mins or less in a 5k. I haven't really been working towards that here lately. I have got to start doing some form of speed training if I ever want to get close to that twenty min mark.

All I know is it was fine before my run. Put a shirt on to drive home and it burned. wth?

I don't want to know how you chaffe a nipple without a shirt on. :)

Going to try and increase my hill running more this week. The neighborhood I have been running in lately has some hills but just outside the neighborhood there are some steep steep hills and I am going to try and use those during my distance runs and afterwards from some hill training. Basically I am going to try and stretch myself to the limits this week.

2.6 last night with hills in the run and then after the run was over. I picked the steepest hill closest to the house and run three quarters of a miles just in hills. My legs are KILLING me today

I'm back guys. First run last night in exactly 6 weeks. Only did 2 miles but had a good pace, but just got winded after 2. Loved it and din't realize how much I missed it.

It's crazy how much you miss it when you aren't running or have to miss a bunch of days in a row because life gets in the way. The week that I took off for moving awful.

Welcome back and enjoy!!

Thank you, I'm going to try to keep it up

Life gets in the way sometimes. Specially if you have kids. It's hard to go run sometimes when my son is asking me to play ball or read a book to him. So sometimes I don't run or have to run later at night after he has gone to bed.

Great running trail here in Amberg right next to the hotel. Hope I can get my jet lagged butt out early enough to enjoy it.

2.8 tonight with 1 mile afterwards of nothing but hills. That total of 3.8 was a killer tonight. Legs are already hurting.

6 miles yesterday, 46:32. 4.7 mile ruck out to the gas chamber this morning, getting gassed, then rucking back. As a rear guard, I basically was running and then stopping, running then stopping the whole time. We had so many fallouts on the way back, ugh.

Getting ready for the Hood to Coast then the Bourbon Chase directly after that, and then a Tough Mudder immediately after that. A lot of running in my immediate future.

Been back at it 3 days in a row now. Did 3 last night after doing 2 the first 2 days. Getting my legs back and loving it. Why did I ever stop?

I bet you have some really nice scenery to look at while you run out there too which probably doesn't hurt things.

That is true. Normally pretty nice weather too, but right now were having a heat wave. Just went out at 10am to run 3, but could only get in 2 because it was too hot. Oh well, at least I did something.

Where do you live OS?

Chattanooga, which has plenty of nice places to run with plenty of nice scenery but it's all hills. :eek:lol: Makes for some intresting runs sometimes. I don't know if you are fimilar with Chattanooga but we have what they call the River Walk and it really nice flat running/biking trail. I have ran in Florida along the beach. I would love to make it to Califorina sometime to visit much less run.
