No Jay was talking about a double standard being used since he likes one player(Blanc) and questions the other(Zanca). I personally like the Zanca pickup as much as the overrated Santos verbal we had last year. I also think Zanca will produce well in this defense after a good solid year to develop.
I think this kid is a decent WR but I don't think he's better than any of the guys we had come in last year. IMO if a juco isn't better than the young guys you have coming in then we shouldn't be recruiting him. We'll see though. Reminds me of T.J Jones from ND.
There is no double standard. Everyone on here knows that I played with Cody so I'm going to naturally be proud of him and excited about the offers and UT commitment.
But I never have said I liked him as a player. I've been a tough critic of him on here and said numerous times he is going to be a STs player and have to work hard to ever get into rotation. I don't like the Zanca pickup either.
But the argument wasn't about that. I was simply stating Zanca has a sorry offer list, which he does. Cody's wasn't amazing, but it consisted of VT and 2 SEC teams. I trust UT's staff, but I just see Zanca as a player who could possibly get recruited over like UT's staff has done in the past (Henderson, Redding, Powers, Parker, etc.).
So you're proud of him but you don't like him as a player? Everytime we talk about him as a player you defend his ability. Everytime he's joked about you come with your BS about why does Blanc have to be a joke. Come on dude.....
FTR: I said I liked Blanc as a safety prospect.eace2:

Not sure if posted yet (I didn't look through 8 pages) but apparently this kid has a mixtape... not unlike Swiperboy. So oh well I guess Dooley was a little jealous of the basketball team...

why wouldnt anyone question this committment, given the timing and the rating. nobody is freaking out,(except you), just scratching their heads. this time last year, and there probably would have been a melt down. seems like there is a lot more trust in the staff's aility to gauge talent, but that still doesn't mean we accept everything they do as blind sheep. Why are people questioning it? So what if he's a juco or has a low star rating or slim offer list. I trust Dooley and company more than the majority of coaching staffs out there when it comes to recruiting. How's Devrin Young worked out so far? Just because we're early to offer doesn't mean that the guy is bad. Truth be told, I believe a lot of staffs just play it on the safe side by waiting til other bigger name programs offer to offer themselves. One thing I admire about Dooley and co. is that they're not afraid to hand out an offer to somebody they feel is SEC caliber, regardless of what anybody else thinks. I used to be one of those star gazers, but after countless times of seeing a prospect seemingly fall off the map ratings wise because he committed to us has soured me on the recruiting services. I'm no talent evaluator, but if a guy's film stands out, which Comas' did, then there isn't any reason not to like him, which I do. See, I formed my own opinion, and it feels great. Some of you all need to quit questioning a commit just because he's not highly rated by the so called "experts" who have just about as much of a clue as most of the people on here do. Dooley and company have done pretty well on under the radar guys, so just trust that they know what they're doing, sit back, and relax.
This is a strange situation: Comas is committed to us but not committed to us? Or is he not committed to us and committed to us? I'm confused. Scout acts like we snagged him, Rivals frontpage doesn't even mention him, and 247 says it isn't a done deal just yet. Strange days we're living in.
