"I'm going to Tennessee [today] for an unofficial visit to watch spring practice. I'm looking forward to meeting the coaches and meeting the team. I want to see what their d-line is like."
"Arkansas, Tennessee, Nebraska and Baylor are recruiting me the hardest with phone calls, Facebook and written letters. I plan on going to Nebraska's and Arkansas' spring games, and I might end up going to Arkansas State's spring game too."
Johnson made clear that he was the one initiating the phone calls in an effort to get a better feel for the coaches recruiting him. He also recently received a verbal tender from a notable Pac-12 program.
"USC verbally offered me and their coach said that he wants to come see me do a couple drills during my spring practice."
"I want to make my decision before the season starts," Johnson said. "I want to find somewhere that it feels like family, and where I can get playing time. I want to have a good connection with the coaches and the team. That's basically it."
