This is a no brainer. Tell the kid bring your transcripts on the visit. As soon as he gets to Knox take him to admissions and see what happens....

if schools that has more lax admissions dept are saying no, what makes you think we would say yes? were talking about FSU and UF. the dude is from Miami, im sure they are aware of the HS process down there, better than we are.

Wtf???? Wonder what our admission staff will/can do? Hell Lacy and Brandon Fulse got in at Bama and the Barn.
not sure on Lacy but Fulse only attended one HS not 3. He could get in late but the Clearing House will drop on can of red paint on him. Prep school is his best route imo... his HSC and 7 on 7 coach all have told him to go the prep route but he's set on playing FCS next fall.

Step off the high horse. We got in Mario Pender when FSU originally said no.

Probably just getting this guy in on a visit so he can see our facilities and what we have to offer him that way while he's in Prep school he's got us on our mind. That is if we can convince him to go to that route.

You said yourself that Miami has higher admissions standards (true, by the way). Why not try? If he doesn't make it through the admissions process, you tell him to kick rocks.

Miami is a different story than FSU or UF, simply bc it is private. I mean they can try all they want, but I'm telling you there is no way the kid will go to UT, unless we purposely pull a BAMA or Aubbie and illegally change his transcripts.

Pender's issue wasn't grades but the open case. Once the case was dropped they cleared him to EE.

I was aware of the open case against Pender but this is what Pender was quoted as saying as well...

"Yes sir the delay with admissions was because of the classes I had taken there at the alternative learning center, so I couldn't be admitted from what I was told until that was cleared up," he said. "There was some paperwork there that needed to be finalized, but now it looks like everything has been taken care of. I think it was mainly a question of how legit the learning center was because no D-I prospect had gone there and still gone to school, so that was really the question."

For athletes yes, though there are rumors Cheek is changing that (this isn't a good thing). For general students its much, much tougher than it was because of the lottery scholarship.

they aren't rumors anymore, see Eddrick Loften as an example.
