No offer from Vanderbilt. Think we have a legit chance since Franklin hasn't swooped in. :)

Leggett gave the Hurricanes a verbal commitment in November 2010, but both sides agreed to part ways in December 2011 because Miami head coach Al Golden and his staff did not think they could get Leggett admitted and cleared to the prestigious private school, which has higher academic standards than the NCAA.

According to him and other sources, Leggett should be fine by NCAA standards. He reportedly has a 2.2 grade point average in his core classes and got a 22 on the ACT.

Four time transfer? In high school?. There's going to be all kind of challenge (red flags) thrown by the clearinghouse. 2.2 g.p.a. and 4 transfers isn't a recipe for success. He's a baller tho.

Somebody needs to break out the admissions formula and give us a reading. I've seen it posted on here before...

The U has stricter admissions than TN?

I think they have some fairly strict admissions criterion from general admissions, but I bet that athletic scholarships are fudged a bit. I mean, Willie Williams got in, and if anyone followed his recruitment journal (and all the subsequent violations he told the whole nation about) then they know that all the guys going there are not intelligent.

That said, when I was applying to schools I believe you needed above a 2.0 and a 21 on the ACT for UT, but I know that things have become far more competitive in the past few years. I've heard of people with scores in the mid 20's that have been rejected. Who knows? Also, I was an academic snob back then and needed out of Knox, so I didn't give our school a fair look to be honest. I will be definitely rethinking that strategy for law school next year.

Want him on this squad if we can get him in. Bonner, Leggett(if we can get him in), and Gray(if he can get in) would be a strong CB class. It's obvious CSS wants some real CBs on our team and I can't blame him.

I doubt CDD and staff would be bringing him in if they didn't feel pretty confident that he could get in. JMO

they felt the same way about loften, not trying to be a debbie downer, but he is no bonner. He is elite, but obviously has grade issues.

someone on VQ asked if Leggett coming in had anything to do with Gray...

I don't think it does. Numbers aren't a concern right now. Gray continues to say he is solid to Tennessee.

Terry Joseph put in the work to get the four-star corner to visit Knoxville. Joseph saw him on Thursday when visiting cornerback commit Daniel Gray. Leggett was a one-time Miami commit, but academic concerns led him to commit to Marshall last week. He's only taken one other official visit and the Vols will have to convince him that Knoxville is not only the right fit, but that they can get him into school as well.
