Texas go beat your chest some more....Lock him down....Brainwash him....and tell him sweet lies.....this is the machine working in its finest moment....Never liked Texas, never will....This is a show of force.....

Unfortunately, it will be a fall that Santos realizes (if he goes to Texas) that he was Lied to by the coaches....He will sit on the bench.....warm his toes and watch his first year....He may even be a RS......but the one thing you will not change is the lies.....

This is the University of Texas offering a stud linebacker a scholarship to a Texas raised kid.

Some of you seriously need to take a step back and calm down. If Dalton de-commits and goes to Texas, more power to him. I will still wish him the best of luck.

If you had verbally committed to Texas because UT did not offer you, then received an offer from UT what would you do?

I have a friend who just moved close to Van about a year ago. I didn't realize how close until we talked just now.

He told me this.. His exact text message.

"I've never met him, but I know a lot of his friends. I'm friends with this guy he hangs out with and he told me that yall are most likely gonna hang on to him. He was stoked when he got the Texas offer and everyone around here started pushing him to go to Texas instead of Tennessee but his coach showed him an article in a newspaper or something, idk.. But it said something about him being a backup at Texas and his coach got the feeling Texas only wanted him cause other players passed and that didn't sit well with him. He's being really quiet and it wouldnt surprise me with either one he chose but you say that everyone is claiming him a Texas lock but that is far from true according to his friends."

Then I replied
"That's great. However, if hes being so quiet then why would his friends know?"

Him
"They don't. They are just guessing off his moods after those certain events. They know Dalton, though, and they think he is still in love with Tennessee."

Sorry for the long post, but I thought some might find it interesting. I certainly did.
Obviously my friend, nor myself, are as good a source as Skeet seeing he hears it straight from the staff but nonetheless, it appears he has read the Bleacher Report article and didn't like it all which we all know is good news.

On a side note, they could all be lying or just wanting to know, etc... Just passing on what I was told. Take it for what you want.

The only thing ive heard up to this point is what his dad told the coaches. Im sure ill hear more after they visit with him tomorrow. Our coaches are good recruitiers, they will make sure Dalton is well aware we have always wanted him, and he may in fact be the back up plan at Texas.

If DS weathers this Texas storm and heads up to Knoxville is setting himself up to become legend. Davey Crockett league anyone? Its college football dontchaknow!

Texas is Texas for a Texas kid just about suns up the last thousand or so posts.

I'm having a great time in Austin today, IF ANYONE HAD BOTHERED TO ASK.

i kinda like how this is shaping up. im with UTVOL02, i think Sal does enough to keep him away.

I think there's at least some hope now. I still think he's likely going to end up a Longhorn, but I feel much better about our chances of holding on to him than I did the other night.

Yeah, I knew you posted what his dad said and didn't know how Dalton felt but I was just passing this along.

Obviously what you hear after CSS sees him will be much more valuable, just hope its somewhat the same, or better than what I heard today.

well the fact that texas has come out and given our coaches ammo to use against texas is great. its def going to be a fight, but texas should have just said we always had him on our radar and we felt right now was the best time to offer, not "other recruits didn't pan out so we decided to offer him." If santos has the attitude we all think he has, im sure he is not happy he is going to be a backup plan, but texas is texas, i was born there.

I'm feeling a bit better about this one as time goes on. DS has been quoted multiple times that he loves to play downhill and "blow-up" the runner. He's not a big fan of pass d. at the present. He just wants to hit somebody.
That style of play is not a good fit for the pass happy 50 pts a game Big 12. I think if he really thinks it through, he'll be a Vol.

I love how I use the word consistently, and you talk about one year. Just go to this link and do some research and get back to me. Too much to get you with.

Total AP Football Poll Appearances Summary - College Poll Archive - Historical College Football and Basketball Polls and Rankings

....I only talked about this past season because this was the first time in a while they started a season highly ranked and hung around the top 25 because of that initial ranking. The decade before that they weren't ranked "consistently" by any means......

I may not have grown up in Texas or live there...or even know more than a handful of Texas fans but I know this...there is definitely a sense of entitlement when it comes to Texas fans and Texas recruits.

The state of Texas produces 400 FBS kids a year. Texas can recruit 20 to 25. All Longhorn fans know plenty will get away. The only time fans get pissed is when we blow off a guy who wanted to be a Horn, like Drew Brees, who turns out to be great.

If he wants to sign with Texas as a back up plan, that's fine but if he wants an opportunity to play, he'll sign here.

Texas has a lot of key guys like Jackson Jeffcoat and Jordan Hicks who could go pro after their Jr years. Santos would be expected to step up pretty soon. This idea he wouldn't start for years at Texas is silly.

How soon could you get to Van? Are you equipped with any Vol swag or signage? How about some orange spray paint?

I have no idea. Somewhere with a lot of food trucks. My girlfriend is from Fort Worth and this is part of a road trip to see her family. New Orleans was last week.

Find the trailer with the Macarons, so very delicious.

La boutite or something close to that.
