Can't blame him at all if he switches. Grew up a fan. Being a former Texas player opens up many doors in that state after college.

I hope he sticks true with Tennessee because he seems to have the intangiables and badass attitude we've been missing but I won't hold it against him if he heads to Austin.

Good Post. I read that his family was moving to knoxville with Dalton. With this Texas offer he gets his dream school and gets to stay in his home state. I hope he stays with us but I expect him to decommit,

I was correct the first time.

Sal Sunseri will be in Van, Texas on Wednesday to meet with Dalton Santos and family.

I don't think Texas fans feel entitled to every Texas recruit.

I may not have grown up in Texas or live there...or even know more than a handful of Texas fans but I know this...there is definitely a sense of entitlement when it comes to Texas fans and Texas recruits.

Santos is a lifelong Longhorn fan so that is why we fell confident he will commit once he is on campus with Mack.

As another poster pointed out, Randall Cobb was the same way in regards to UT. Grew up a UT fan, we didn't pay much attention to him, he ultimately commits to UK, then all of a sudden, we're interested. He signed with UK.

I hope this is what happens with Santos, but as I said earlier...hope he goes where ever he feels he's most comfortable.

If he wants to sign with Texas as a back up plan, that's fine but if he wants an opportunity to play, he'll sign here.

Texas fans are delusional they have never played in a conference where they weren't one of the top two dogs. They didn't go tot he Pac 12 for that reason and won't go to the SEC for the same reason. The only reason why they are in the top 5 in all time wins because their program has been around almost longer than anybody besides Ivy and Big 10 schools and they have played in a weak conference. Their lack of national championships with the talent they get on an annual basis is embarrassing.

With that being said, Texas has 2 LB positions that will be open next year. Jordan Hicks, a 5 star LB will hold down one of the outside LB positions, he is a bigtime NFL talent. Santos may be able to start at MLB because he is competing with a Soph next year and it doesn't look like TX has any depth at MLB.

A lot of Texas fans agree with you. I don't think Mack sucks as a coach but he certainly isn't an elite Xs & Os guy. However, he has the 2 best technical coordinators of his career now and Mack is an elite recruiter and CEO of a program. I expect Texas to win one more national title before Mack shuts it down.

Mack is a lot of things and he isn't perfect but he isn't a liar.

Think about TCU's undefeated season where they beat the Big 10 Champ (Wisc) in the Rose Bowl and finished #3 just a year or so ago. A&M hasn't come close to a single season like that post WWII and you have to go back to leather helmets and no facemasks to even try to make a comparison. I'm not saying TCU is Bama but you guys are vastly over-valuing A&M. In the modern era of football, this is a nothing program.

That is all this is......

Elite athletes don't think that way. Santos is convinced he will be a starter and a contributor at Texas in the near future.

Except he won't be.

Some of our fans in this thread sound like low self esteem, chubby sophomores in high school begging to bang the quarterback

Is this was the future looks like? Santos sitting in an overstuffed leather armchair in a limestone temple surrounded by Austin babes watching the Vols play for the BCS?

That ain't football.

unless something crazy happens next weekend, dalton will be a Horn, according to his dad.

R brown will not be a vol.
