Arnett to transfer?

Central Michigan is in his hometown. Mich and MichSt are each over an hours drive away. If he is leaving to be near his family, Central Michigan makes by far the most sense. If he's leaving because his coach left and he "doesn't like his role", then he shouldn't be allowed to just renege on his commitment and go where he wants. Central makes the most sense under either scenario.

If this is truly about his dad's health, then Arnett will not have any complaints about Dooley's decision.

If he does complain, then it speaks volumes of Arnett's desire to have free agency in college football.

Can you imagine the transient behavior we would see if every coach unconditionally released every player who was unhappy at the school where they signed their LOIs? College football would be an absolute mess.

Also, I don't see how any of you can possibly think this can be good for the program (not granting the release to MSU or UM). Think about it.

I don't see what the big deal is here. He wanted a release because he NEEDS to be near his dad AND he can still play D1 football. Didn't Dooley give him the release he required?

Oh, wait he wants ALSO to go to MSU or UM? Anything else? Would you like to take the new training facility with you? Good grief.

Silly imo.

It's like saying if it is really for your dad, then you have no right asking for anything else, like where you want to play, etc.

They should release him to stay at home, not get the best education possible and play for a pick up league, because he was dishonest

Big 10>MAC

I'd love for anyone on this board to openly say if they were in Arnett's shoes they would be happy to transfer from the University of Tennessee, have major D1 talent and potentially NFL talent, and be told "We aren't going to pick your school for you but we are going to make darn sure you don't get to pick where you want to go, but where you will have to settle, like a MAC school, but at least you are closer to your dad. Smile kid, you got your wish"

I don't see what the big deal is either. If he wants to go, let him go. He isn't asking to go to bama or something anyway, so see ya DA have fun playing in the snow bowls. We will get another WR and he will be near his dad. All is good.

I don't give a **** where he goes, or what happens to him after he leaves Knoxville. Pick-up league or National Football League. All I'm saying is, those painting out UT to be monsters because they wont let him go be with his sick father (who he's never had a relationship with) are morons.

That's all.

Yeah, who cares about an 18 year old kid's future, who will have to provide for his family when his dad dies due to these health conditions?

The best education possible would be Michigan.

Doesn't matter, thats how it will look, and that is one of the multitude of reasons he should get what he wants. You know, that and it's the right thing to do

Screw him, he was dishonest with a coach that won't even be here when he plays his first game for the school he goes to

question for those that might know.

What would happen if arnett just doesn't come back to UT and enrolls at UM or MSU without the release?

The problem is that CDD is going to lose in the court of public opinion. He'll be raked over the coals in the media, and it could very well hurt recruiting.

Anyone who believes the sick father is the only reason is an absolute moron, but to an outsider, CDD looks petty for this. I mostly agree with UT's stance, but is it worth the PR disaster that would unfold?

So DA is 3rd or 4th option going into his 2nd year of college. Must of thought he was going to come in at UT and be our Number 1 if he is willing to lie about his daddy to leave. Whatever, send him.

I see many mom's vetoing UT because of this.

He could sit out a year, pay for school out of pocket, then play the following year
